Hong Kong Travelogue: 香港 Day 2!

Back for the Day 2 post! If you haven't read Day 1, you can read it by clicking HERE! Slept quite late the previous night and woke up the next morning at about 9am. We opened the curtains and...

THE AMAZING NIGHT VIEW CHANGED TO THE AMAZING DAY VIEW! LOLOLOL

We bought the I ♥ HK tee from temple street the night before after bargaining and decided to wear it on Day 2 where we will be visiting the Ngong Ping! So you can imagine the 5 of us running around wearing the same tee. So obvious that we are tourists, confirm buy things kena chopped one! LOL

Took the hotel shuttle bus to Tsim sha tsui (another HKD30) to meet Jeffery for Breakfast!

At every MTR station, there is this wall where they will imprint the station name behind a coloured wall and our mission to take as many photos with the station name as possible! So tourist, LOL

Jeffery did some research on his iPhone and found one good dim sum restaurant for breakfast!

There was one time when we (the guys) went to the toilet, but we entered one by one and we somehow pretended that we don't know each other and did our things and it was such an epic scene for the people inside. It was almost like a flash mob. 4 unknown guys wearing the same tee, LOL

At London dim sum restaurant, we don't order what we want but we wait for the aunties to push their trays around and we see if there's any dishes that we want. For every dish that we take, they just keep chopping on this bill but the actual fact is, we have no idea how much each dish cost!

Mong kok station.

We had to take a train over to Tung Chung station to take a cable car to Lantau island!

I forgot for what reason, we stopped by Hong Kong station...

Finally reached and saw the cable cars!

The queue was quite long but we finally got our tickets after about 15 to 20 mins!

I heard this ngong ping cable car is the longest in Asia!

It was some bubble festival during that period and there were bubbles machines EVERYWHERE!

This is the main reason why most people come to Lantau island.

We decided to slowly climb up the stairs but we took longer than anyone else. Mainly because after every about 20 steps, we stopped and started taking photos! I brought my tripod along so we could get more group photos! You will see them as we slowly reached the top of the stairs...

It was quite a magnificent view and the Buddha was HUGE. Did a silent prayer (:

The 4 photos that we bought. Never had the intention to buy them but for whatever reason, all the photos turn out to be damn nice. So we bought everything, and they are not cheap hor! I think it's about SGD$10 per photo! After we got 4 photos, we told ourselves, the next time a photographer ask us to pose, we will do stupid face so that the photos will turn out ugly and we won't buy it.

By the time we took the cable car back to mainland, we were all really tired.

Avenue of Stars.

As tired as we may be, we decided to go ahead with the itinerary as planned and head to the Avenue of Stars to catch the Night lights display show at 8pm! I can still remember during my last trip i came to this place but was too late for the show. This time we managed to reach on time!

The view was pretty! But honestly, the light show wasn't very impressive...

Search for this Toy Mart building in Mong Kok and i'm so glad we found it!

I like to shop at stores like Toy post in Singapore because i get to see different things that people are selling in a single shop and some things are really interesting. In HK toy mart, there are so many of these stores! You will see what are some of the crazy things that we bought in that building!

Wide range of contact lens! Those that we see in online blogshops. Safe or not, i don't know.

It was getting late and we felt hungry so we decided to stop by this Clay pot store for dinner!

Reminder to drink Shui liu shan when you are in Hong Kong, it's the best!

Here are some of the stuffs that we bought from Toy Mart! Did you see a cotton candy maker machine?! OR that jellyfish tank? OR that toy capsule machine?! OR that underwater film camera?!

We were so excited that we immediately bought batteries from 7 eleven and fixed up the toys at Jeffery's place. (also to check whether it really works!) After which, we cabbed back to our hotel.

As mentioned earlier in the Day 1 post, Day 3 was supposed to be a trip to Macau, somewhere which i really wanted to go but due to time constraint, we decided not to. But still, Day 3 was still as interesting as we took the "ding ding train" and visited a lot of celebrities! LOL

Hong Kong Travelogue: 香港 Day 1!

Let's start! 4 months ago... (Seriously can't believe i took 4 months to blog about my Hong Kong travelogue!?) Well, I did edit all the photos about 2 months after the trip but didn't managed to find the time to add in the words until today. A Sunday which i came back in the morning at 8am after a whole night of Mahjong-ing, came back, took a 5 hours nap. Time check now - 9.00PM. Alright! I'm ~~quite~~ determined to finish the all 4 days HK travelogue post by today! *punch fist in the air*

Basically i took 2 weeks of holidays in October last year and if you have been a loyal reader, you would have read that i went Phuket during the first week, and guess what? 2 days after i came back, i flew to Hong Kong during the second week! I swear it was a very very impromptu trip! LOL

I would say this trip was quite a last minute plan. It was supposed to be the 4 of us - Me, Weifeng, his GF and Chris (Yeah, the same guy who went Phuket too!) but just 1 or 2 nights before, Jeffery managed to settle his own flight and accommodation and decided joined us for this trip! YAYYYY

Out of the 5 of us traveling, we the 4 guys were busy with our commissioning parade at SAFTI, plus the first week, Chris and i were at Phuket, Jeffery at Bangkok so it was quite difficult to coordinate and plan the trip but i'm so glad Wendy (Weifeng's capable girlfriend) managed to do research, check the flights, book the rooms and even come up with an itinerary for the trip! Kudos to her!

I REALISED THIS IS MY 2ND TRIP TO HONG KONG IN 2012! ♥

Air fare to Hong Kong at the end of the year was really really expensive but since we already made up our mind to go, we (or should i say Wendy?) compared the prices and we decided to go for Jetstar. We even got to claim back the air fare through work benefits so technically, it's FREEEEE!

ABOUT 3 TO 4 HOURS LATER, WE LANDED IN HONG KONG!!!

This is when i realised, the plane stopped in the middle of nowhere...

I realised because Jetstar is a small plane compared to the normal ones, we have to get down, walk on the tarmac and there will be a bus to fetch us to the arrival hall! Honestly, it was quite an experience because the first time i went to Hong Kong, i took Singapore Airlines. I won't take Tigers Airways because of the walking part but this time, they managed to "force" me walk on the ground!

Bought a 3 days airport express unlimited travel pass. I would highly recommended this for tourist!

Took a cab over to our hotel. Like i said earlier, this trip was quite impromptu so we didn't have much hotel choices (plus the rates are crazy during year end!) We settled for Gold coast hotel which we found out was on the other end of the island. Not really accessible to the main tourist areas...

FINALLY ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL!!!

I'm literally stunned by how grand this Gold Coast hotel was. It felt like Singapore's MBS! Anyway, it's not cheap hor. It's about 300+ sing dollars/night. It was already one of the cheapest we can find.

Gold coast is where all the rich people stay. No wonder this hotel is so grand. Anyway, the room was huge! 2 super single sized bed, bath tub, make up table, huge TV, what more could we ask for?

The guys found this adult entertainment pay-per-movie section, LOL

The view was AMAZING. Nothing was blocking our views, and there were lots of yachts parked neatly below. The night view was so pretty with all the lights. No wonder the price for the room.

We took awhile to unpack our luggage and took a shuttle bus which brings us to the town!

Basically the hotel provides shuttle bus service which fetches hotel guest to Tsim Sha Tsui at every 30 mins interval and it cost HKD30 ($5) for every trip. The trip takes about 35 mins. Since that's the only way to town, we took the shuttle bus every morning and take a cab back every night. $.$

One of our itinerary was to visit the Agnes B café! But not on the first night (:

Went over to Jeffery's hostel before going for dinner. From the outside, the place looks like some old rundown building, but when we entered, we were like, "CAN WE CHECK OUT OF GOLD COAST AND MOVE HERE?!" At Hop inn, every room is designed according to a theme by an artist! They have single rooms, double rooms and even family rooms. So pretty and it's cheaper too! Wah lao :(

One piece of advice - When you go Hong Kong, you MUST try their Char Siew rice.

Amount of Hong Kong dollars i exchanged for this trip. I think around SGD$400... I told myself that's the maximum i will spend in Hong Kong because the previous week at Phuket, i already spent quite a bit on that trip. This time it will just be sightseeing and eating trip. Hmm, we shall see :|

"Danbo wants to eat toooooo!" Okay, lameee.

Behold the most delicious Char siew rice with double egg on earth.

I SWEAR it's the best i have ate in my whole life. Every chunk of Char siew is so juicy and full of flavour. In Singapore, all the char siew are so thin! The thought of HK char siew rice is making me salivated. I can never find such standards in Singapore. I wouldn't mind having it everyday in HK.

Refuse to activate our 3 days unlimited travel pass because it would be a waste if just use the day 1 pass for a night so we bought a one time pass to go over to temple street for night shopping!

HKD$4 per trip, which is like...less than a dollar? 65 cents.

In temple street, the makeshift stores sell all sorts of things from apparels, to gadgets, luggages, and what not. You can try to bargain with the store owners and come to an agreement. Most of the time they will lower the price. I got an advantage because i know how to speak cantonese! :D

Their English super chui. I wonder who will buy this signage.

Anyway, we shopped till about 12 plus when all the stores started to close and took a cab back to the hotel! The cab fare cost about HKD$160 which is equivalent to $26. So you can imagine every night like this. So we have to set aside some money for transportation everyday... Oh wells.

One last photo to end this Day 1 post! Wendy couldn't decide what ear rings/studs to bring/wear for this trip so she brought "part" of her collection and place it on the make up table! Girls, LOL

Even though this is my 2nd trip to Hong Kong this year, i was really glad that the itinerary that Wendy planned was a total different one from my previous trip! It's like i get to experience the other side of hong kong. The initial plan was to go Macau during one of the 4 days but it was scrapped due to time constraint. But it's okay, i will definitely go there one day.

HOWEVER since my friends are already queuing for it, why not get Lemon juice with white pearl Aiyu jelly from Gong Cha or Chocolate Milk from KOI? Both has no tea content in their concoction ;)

Seriously, what can we do other than stay at home and watch the news. LOL

Continued from my previous CNY post, this is now the part 2. Be advise, there's a total of 3 parts to it. Since i'm making the effort to edit and blog about my CNY, you shall just be nice and scroll down and read everything. Nah, you just close the tab if you are not interested. It's not like i'm using a gun to point at you anyway, LOL! I'm typing rubbish, damn. I should stop and get back on track.

Went over to Ryan's house to bai nian during one of the nights, arriving only at 11pm. All the way to Woodlands leh! After about 3 or 4 hours of Mahjong till 3am, i can't believe i lost just $1 -__-

新年 CNY Part 1

I guess i'm one of the few ~~laziest~~ bloggers in the blogosphere who have not even blogged about their Chinese New Year. (Damn, this reminds me that i haven't blogged about my Hong Kong travelogue last October! That's 3 months already, oh my tian. Disclaimer: I swear i edited the all the HK photos already, just need to add in words!) Anyway, here's a collection of 45 photos which basically sum up my CNY this year! Wait. The last day of CNY is actually 6th Feb, which means i'm only 4 days late in blogging about my CNY! I'm not late, i'm not late, i'm not late! It's everyone else blogged early :D

I always try to make it a point to visit Chinatown at least once a year during CNY because i like the atmosphere where all the chinese will gather and get their last minute CNY goodies and decorations. Although most of the time it will get hot and sweaty and i'll complain alot, but still! :|

Apparently someone took a photo of the crowd in Chinatown and posted it on instagram and one of my twitter followers spotted me in the photo! What are the chances! It was quite amusing. LOL

Saw a queue for Bak Kwa and decided to get some too ♥

Definitely not cheap but CNY is a good excuse to get Bak Kwa :D

There's a lot of these store in Chinatown. What they mainly offer are either Taiwan puddings, Mochi or sweets. For the fun of it, i went to this store which offers one plastic bag at $5 and we get a stuff as many sweets as we can into the bag! The aftermath is that, the sweets looks interesting but in actual fact, it all taste terrible. It was kinda of waste money but oh wells. Had fun, LOL

It started to rain so my family decided to stop by this dim sum store for some food (:

I have a habit of not opening my ang pows unless i really need the money. I still have last year's unopened ang pows and i'm going to combine them with this year's. I don't really see a need to open them yet. This way, i'm actually saving all my ang pows $$, who knows how much i have now! :D

Met up with my cousins the next day for L4D session!

Decided to have Astons for dinner at The Cathay. As usual, we expected a long queue and we waited about 20 mins for a seat. I realised it's more practical to pray for the queue to be shorter instead of praying that there's no queue at all (which is quite impossible for the cathay outlet...)

I find Astons really good and affordable. Less than 10 bucks for a main and 2 side dishes!

Can't believe in a blink of an eye, it's already the month of February! It feels like just yesterday when i countdown to 2012 and now a month had passed. Realised i haven't been blogging for almost 2 weeks. Most people had already blogged about their CNY, oh wells. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE THOUGH!

Took random photos throughout this CNY but didn't had the time to edit them yet but i try to edit and blogged about them asap. So how did you guys spend your CNY? Other than getting ang pows, did you guys play Blackjack or Mahjong? One last question, how many times did you had Yusheng???

Last year i had it for 5 times (which i thought was really alot) but this year...

My Love Story: "那些年，追我的那个女孩" ♥

Sometimes before i sleep, i will lie on my bed and do some reflections and there are several occasions where by this question always popped out in my head, "If i were given a second chance, would i have done the same?" I bet most of you people have thought about this question before right?

There are a few things or a few decisions that i regretted making and one is about a girl. Till today, i will still ask myself, "Would i have done differently?" and my answer is definitely "Yes". Since it's already in the past, i guess there's no harm typing everything down and sharing it with you guys.

It all started when i was in poly and in the same class as this girl. Let's just called her A. We see each other about 2 times a week during class and she is one of the few classmates that i talk to and msn in class. We then exchanged numbers and began sms-ing each other every now and then.

During that period, tag board is like a "must" on blogs as a platform for bloggers to communicate with their readers, so i had one on my blog. At the same time, i had a "secret admirer" on my tag board, always giving me good comments, encouragements and even scolded those haters on my blog for me. But i never knew who he/she was.

Until A told me, that secret admirer is actually her friend who had a crush on me.

I was quite surprised at first that A knew who the secret admirer was but then as you might have already guessed, A was actually the secret admirer.

A told my good friend, B that she liked me and soon, it was a known fact to everyone in class. It was not really an #awkwardmoment because i still treat her like i always do but i never thought of accepting her because one, i have never thought of going steady with her PLUS two, i hate to commit because friends are more important to me at that time. (Until now, It still is.)

We still continued to sms, chat on msn blah blah blah. Sometimes i would share my thoughts with her, she would share hers with me. During that time, i had a wisdom tooth extraction surgery and i told her about it and the fact that i have difficult chewing food because of the stitches. The next thing i know, when i stepped into class the next morning, at my seat was a bowl of plain porridge.

Another occasion when my hand phone died, she offered to borrow me her extra phone. She was using one of the latest Sony Ericsson phone and she had an extra Motorola V3 but guess what? The next day, she handed me the SE phone. I was like, "I can use the V3, once i get a new phone, i can return it to you" Her replied was, "You can take better photos with the SE, you can use it for blogging. I can use the V3 since i only sms and call..." Honestly, my heart melted.

How many girls would thought of that?

But there was this time where she playfully took my phone (technically, it's her phone) and refuse to return it to me. At that time, i needed it to contact my friends for break time. I got angry, slammed my laptop, packed my bag and left the class halfway. (Yes, i skipped class.)

Because i knew she was holding my phone, i asked rinn to send my number an sms, "Dear, what time are we meeting for lunch." If you know SE phones well, when it receive an sms, it will display the first few words of the sms. Well, it displayed - "Dear, what time..." Wrong move.

I admit, I was such a bastard.

No matter what, i need to get the phone back. So i went back to class and guess what? She was sobbing, but trying to sing and play the guitar in the next classroom. She had asked her friend to record it on that Sony Ericsson phone. That was her intention in the very first place.

I was standing at the door, looking at her. Hand on the knob, don't know whether to open it or not. She saw me, returned me the phone and i left the classroom. I later learnt that she learnt the guitar and wanted to play it for me first. Looking at the video, i felt really really guilty.

I appreciated everything that she did for me. So after a few nights, i decided to send her an sms, it was one of the most childish thing i ever did. I let fate decide, the sms was, "If you can reply to this sms within the next 5 mins, i guess we can try to be together." I waited and did not get a reply. The next day, i learnt that she left her phone in the car over the night -__-

Well, the next day i act like nothing happened. We still continue talking like normal friends, sms-ing without bringing that matter up.

One night, i went clubbing with my friends till about 2, 3am and told her about it. She was still awake at that time and she asked me, "Do you need me to fetch you?" Of course i did not accept it as it was already past midnight. She insisted on coming down to Zouk, fetched me to Pasir Ris and back to her house in Bukit Batok - ON A CAB. Can you imagine how much would the total fare cost?!

I rejected that idea straightaway and decided to stay over at my friend's house in woodlands till the next morning then take Bus 168 back home. Before i slept, she sms-ed me - "I will be awake, if you need me to fetch you home, just give me a call." I did not call her.

Soon, we completed our modules and it was holidays. The class decided to open a chalet. Even though i was not really close with that class (i only see them once or twice a week) i decided to just "show face" afterall we technically spent 16 weeks together in school.

That night was the very last night we talked. She asked me to accompany her for a walk along the beach. We found a spot by the sea and sat down to talk. She asked me why don't i want to be with her. I gave her my stupid reasons like i won't want to commit, i won't have time for her because of my busy schedules etc. She said she won't mind but still.

I didn't know what was stopping me from accepting her.

Side note: I always feel that people will somehow will change after they are together. Before into a relationship, during courtship both will say they can accept each other for any flaws blah blah blah but when together, it becomes a different thing and forget mostly what they have said beforehand.

After the talk, we headed back to the chalet. As we were walking, i felt a hand grabbing my hand from behind, it was her. Our fingers were inter crossed. I let her be and held her hand throughout until she suddenly stopped and hugged me, not only that but she started crying. Oh my tian.

I felt helpless and didn't know what to do so i hugged her back and let her cry. After awhile, she stopped and the last sentence she said was, "You go back first, i want some time alone."

So i slowly made my way back to the chalet, told the class i had something on and had to make a move first and left the chalet. That was our story that didn't had an ending. We lost touch then.

The next time i heard from her when i was in BMT. She sms-ed me to invite me to her wedding. Honestly, i was quite surprised. I did not turn up in the end because i was in Tekong. But i did ask myself, "If i was free that day, would i still attend her wedding?"

I still have A on my facebook and i still has updates about her life. If you ask me now if i regret rejecting her that night at the beach, my answer would be Yes. Sometimes i would think if i accepted her that night, would we last until now? Or would the ending be the same?

Well, i always kept this story to myself and there are only a few friends who knew about this incident. Some said i was stupid to give up such a good girl, some said A was scary (?!) Now that i shared it on my blog, you guys also know about it too. I guess it's just part and parcel of life.

4 Day 3 Nights Phuket getaway: Day 4!

The previous post i ended off with a photo taken with lady boys from the Simon Cabaret. Anyway, i realised i got "cheated" by them. #FML I didn't see the sign that says "Tipping 25 Baht each" so when they asked 50 baht from me each i gave it to them lor. Neh, This two below lor:

ACTUALLY i just wanted to take photo with the one in the middle (~~the boobs like spilling out, LOL~~), but then the one on the left just suka suka anyhow-ly come and join in the photo, 3 of us lor.

This photo cost me 100 Baht. But i don't regret giving them the tips. 100 baht to us is like $4, but to them it might be a lot. I've seen documentaries, and i think their life is not that easy. Especially the 'transformation' part into a girl. I wish i took more photos though, i don't mind paying them lor.

The one is the pink dress caught my attention the most throughout the whole show. I think she is the prettiest amongst everyone there. If she is a real girl, confirm ALOT of people will go for her one.

Overall, the show was quite an experience. Some of them were pretty obvious that they were guys "previously" but there are those that totally you won't expect them to be lady boys. They are so perfect that you wished your girlfriend look like them, LOL! One way to identify would be to hear their voice, that's something it's difficult or cannot be change. Should have took more photos! :(

Went to a restaurant after the show to have our dinner! Finally on the last night in Phuket, some authentic thai food like tom yum soup, pineapple rice etc! Very delicious and not expensive at all!

Went back to Bangla street to experience their night life once again!

While walking along the street, it's common to be stopped by guys who will offer you 'FREE Ping Pong show' at their bar. It's hard to explain what the show is really about, it's basically a famous show where females will use their erm... private part to 'shoot' things like ping pong balls etc. O.O

Even though it sounds like it's free, they expect you to buy drinks from their bar while watching and their prices are exorbitant! Anyway, that's what i heard from my friends. However, WE DID NOT GO FOR THE SHOW (although i'm quite curious about it, plus there are females with us, not very nice.)

Those 2 storey bars will have these bar girls pole dancing, trying to entice customers!

From the outside, you can actually see the inside of the bar and you can see girls pole dancing on table tops while the customers are drinking as seen in the above photo. Some like no strength one!

Remember i showed this photo in my Day 1 post and i said this is one of the more popular bar because of the crowd gathered outside? Well, it's because of these 3 women on the table:

Apparently, people are gathering outside this particular bar is because of the FREE SHOW. Once in awhile, as the two women are dancing, they will then randomly drop the front part of their dress, revealing their breast to the crowd! Then all the ang mo will go high, LOL! I was quite shocked.

Not only that, once in awhile, they will slowly lift up their dress to reveal that they are not wearing any panty, and show the crowd their... erm... you know. This is the kind of night life you can expect to see in Phuket. Damn crazy but exciting. Quite an EYE OPENER for me, HAHAHAHAHA

Since it's already the last night in Phuket, we spent our remaining money on buying souvenirs home for our friends and family. Bargaining was fun at Phuket! I realised when they ask you to quote a price, don't give them face, just pom and give them like half the actual price and slowly rise. If you not happy, just leave but normally they will give in. You happy, they also happy (:

It's finally the last day in Phuket. The past 3 days has been quite an experience.

Nothing much on the last day as we are taking the morning flight back to Singapore. Woke up, packed our luggage, clear the room and getting ready to check out of our hotel. Transport to the airport was arranged since we booked the Phi Phi tour package on the very first day. Going home!

This marks the end of my Phuket travelogue, hope you guys enjoyed reading it!

This trip was really an eye opener for me. As i said before, every of my overseas trip (not like i've been to alot of countries but still!) has been a shopping trip for me but this Phuket trip was rather unique. Spent most of the time outdoor, even the shopping centers has no effect on me! LOLOLOL

If i have a chance, i would still visit phuket someday (I still have 4 unused vouchers!) Maybe to snorkel again, or go for the Simon Cabaret show and take more photos this time, or simply go to the beach, rent a chair and read a book under the sun. Till my next travelogue, ciaos.

Christmas with *Cousins at Hotel Re!

Once again, i know it's already 2012 but i die die still want to publish this post! I actually edited the photos for this post before year end but just didn't have the time to add in the words. So now i finally have the time, i better finish up before it drags any longer. This post is so last year, LOLOL

Last year's Christmas day was spent at Hotel M with the friends that i made through blogging few about 1 or 2 years back (affectionately known as *cousins with the asterisk) so this year, we decided to celebrate Christmas the same way, but at another place this time! We were considering whether to go back to Hotel M or try out a new hotel. Narrowing down to Hotel Re! this year...

Made a booking about 2 weeks before hand! *excited*

Took a train over to Outram Park station and walked about 10 mins to the Hotel. Along the way, there will be signage to show you the way to the hotel. But while walking, in my mind i was thinking, "why would anyone want to build a hotel here..." It doesn't seem like the best place to build a hotel.

Check in time was 2pm but we arrived earlier, only to find out my room wasn't ready so we waited and waited... ALL THE WAY TILL 3PM! So you can imagine about 6 to 7 of us at the lobby waiting.

Hotel Re! - the modern retro boutique hotel in Singapore!

Once we entered the room, everyone started exploring the room (not like it's very big also) Quite a simple room, can't really see what so special "modern retro" the room is but for our room, we had 3 beds, LCD TV with cable channels, rain shower etc. About $220/ night. I realised this paragraph is not a very positive review, but i don't care. They check us in late leh! 1 whole hour waiting. HMPF

As we were quite early (activities that we planned are for the night) so afternoon we were either playing Monopoly deal, sleeping, eating or watching Cable TV! I watched like 3 movies that afternoon - Mainly Karate Kid, Shrek 3 and How to train a dragon! It was until 6 when everyone was present!

While everyone was eating, i went to my bag get something to give out to everyone!

Every year i look forward to gift exchanges during christmas because the process of exchanging the gifts very interesting and we get back something in return! After all, X'mas is the season of giving!

But this year after voting, we decided not to have a gift exchange because most people don't know what to get and thought might as well use the money to get dinner instead. So i thought maybe i do up something for everyone. So i got little Xmas cards from mini toons, printed individual small photos that i once took with them and attached the card to the cute key chains which i got from my Phuket trip and gave it out to every single one of them! Took me quite a while to source for the photos lor!

Voodoo keychains for the guys, Elephant keychains for the girls! At least they got something ♥

Felt that the effort was worth it when i saw everyone smiling happily in this photo (:

TAU POK!!! I sustained a few abrasions in the midst of playing. I was the ultimate victim!

Wei jie bought this drinking game called the "DRUNKEN TOWER"

Basically the game is like Jenga, we have to pick a block out from the tower and see what's the instructions on the block. The instructions can be like a simple "drink one" or "Player to the right drink one" Very simple drinking game. We had a partner each and mine was Li mei, we don't drink!

My turn to pick one block! I think i toppled the whole tower in the end. LOL

We then moved on to play "Circle of Death" (I think that's the name of the game...)

Basically we had to pick a card out from the circle without breaking the circle chain. Then just match the card number according to the paper! The most fun part is when anyone picked out the number 10, meaning they can set any rule. We had rules like "Cannot point fingers at anyone" or "Cannot say the word - Drink", "End every sentence with Merry Christmas" If we break the rule, we have to drink!

We played games throughout the night and apparently we made too much noise till the manager had to knock on our door 2 times to ask us to quieten down. Everyone slept at around 4am! I slept in an awkward position because of the no. of people squeezing resulting in a serious backache :(

I know it's already 2012 but based on my blogging habits as you all might have noticed for the past years, it's ~~almost~~ impossible for me to blog about my Christmas within the next 5 days before New Year Day! ~~This not only applies to Christmas post but almost every other event~~! (Damn, did i just reminded myself that i still haven't blog about my HK trip last October?! It's been 2 months? OMG.)

December has always been one of my favourite month because #1: It's Christmas month! #2: It's the last month of the year! But it also meant that i will spend more due to the Christmas gift exchanges with friends and colleagues. Well, it's the season of giving! *Plays christmas songs ♫*

Just like the past few years, met up with my dear poly mates - Amanda, Keith, Hui xin for lunch in town! Peggy and Rinn can't make it due to work commitments but you will see as you read on ;)

They are the very first few people who i first met in Poly! Even though we are from different diplomas, due to the first year common modules in RP, we met and became great friends throughout the 3 years in school. Other than my BFFs, i didn't really bother to make new friends in school. LOL

After lunch and walking around town, i headed over to Timbre, Substation to meet my BFFs! Made reservations a few days before to avoid disappointment and queuing. Honestly i was super tired that day. Did not sleep well at Hotel Re the night before, headed to town straight and now Timbre...

BUT STILL, I'M HAPPY TO SEE BOTH MY BFFS!!! Our annual gift exchange ♥

Throughout the whole dinner, the 3 of us were really excited for the gift exchange because we want to know if we like the gifts that we bought for each other. Honestly, it was really difficult getting gifts for the 2 girls. Chocolates is a nono, they are abit too old for soft toys so what else can i get?!

Gave out the presents. BFFs had 3 because i gave them 2 presents each ♥

I got them an 2012 organizer each (which i thought was really practical, hello! and i got one back from Yah see too, LOL) and a "FRIENDS" photo frame and included photos that we took throughout the past 4 years that we have been friends! By the way, i got a USB powered mini Fridge from Nurul!

This is when i took a train back to town to meet my poly mates again. (Yes, AGAIN!) Because this time round, Rinn ended work at almost 10 and it's time for our annual gift exchange!!! YAYYYYY

In the photo on the right, i was praying that Hui xin won't kena my gift because she knows what it is and SHE WANTS IT ALOT. What i bought was a Rilakkuma (i had to google to know the spelling -.-) thumbdrive which looks like exactly like this (click link to view) which i thought was super cute! ♥

Anyway, she really heng heng managed to pick out my EZ link and got my present. Can't believe it, LOL. The ultimate gift among us this year is by Keith! He was carrying this HUGE present throughout the whole day and we were wondering what it was, until the moment Amanda opened her gift...

EVERYONE WENT LIKE, "OMGGGGGG!"

His present is a "Gambling den" set which was super cool (it even had the chips, mat etc!) Not only that but also a cute orange passport holder and a lego USB hub! WHY I NO GET HIS PRESENT! Anyway, i got an esprit leather key chain which i'm satisfied because i used it everyday! (:

That's basically what happened on the day after Christmas! As tired as i might be, and the hassle of traveling from places to places, i'm so glad that i managed to meet all of them! Especially people like Keith whom i literally meet ONCE A YEAR at Christmas (No idea what he does for the rest of the 354 days in the year, LOL) That's all :D

Closure to 2011, hello 2012!

When people say time flies, i have no choice but to agree because in a blink of an eye, it's already the end of Year 2011 and we are welcoming 2012, which is supposedly the end of the world as according to the Mayan calendar. Just imagine the world did not end on 21st December 2012.

On the 22nd, all the movies on 2012 will become a joke. But just in case it ends, we technically have one more year to live our lives to the fullest! So we better make full use of the 365 days in 2012, do what we always wanted to do, buy the things you always wanted to buy etc! MAI TU LIAO! LOL

It feels like yesterday i just blogged about my closure to 2010 and one year past just like that. Anyway, you can read 2010's version by clicking HERE! 2011 has been a great year with quite a number of achievements, traveling overseas etc. Without further ado, i shall now conclude 2011! (:

JANUARY

HAD YU SHENG 5 TIMES FOR CHINESE NEW YEAR!

Ok, maybe it's not that significant but still! I always look forward to CNY gatherings with friends and family, not because of the ang pow (by the way, believe it or not, i haven't even opened my ang pows for 2011!) but it's the together-ness where everyone come together and catch up! ♥

I always try to make it a point to have Yu sheng at every gathering (even though i don't take veggies!) because i simply love the feeling when we mix the Yu sheng. This year i had it 5 times! 1 at home, 1 at BFF's place, 1 at *cousins steamboat, 1 at relatives' place and 1 at JL's place :D

GOT MY FIRST BLACKBERRY, THE BB 9000!

After considerations, i decided to ditch my HTC snap which accompanied me during my BMT days and get the highly raved blackberry. I remembered it was Xiaxue who was promoting the Pros of the phone on her blog and the next thing you know, everyone is either using the iPhone, or a Blackberry! But little did i know the complications of getting a Blackberry... Well, you can read about it HERE.

FEBRUARY

GOT THE IPAD!

When Apple first launched the iPad, i told myself I MUST GET IT, but it got delayed for quite awhile because i didn't have the money to get it... I finally got it in February and i can proudly say it's definitely my BEST purchase of 2011! I have never once regret buying it because it's so handy! Everyone should totally get one! Heard the iPad 3 will be out in Feb 2012, guess who's upgrading? ;)

WENT TO HONG KONG WITH BFFS!

Hong kong is the country that i wanted to visit the most ever since i was young, mainly because of all the HK dramas, i also speak cantonese, Ocean park and what not and i FINALLY went there. I swear i felt like crying when i entered Disneyland, it was like a dream came true, kua zhang much?

PICNIC AT MARINA BARRAGE WITH THE *COUSINS!

Thought it would be good to have another picnic at Marina Barrage with the friends i made from blogging (affectionately known as the *cousins with the asterisk, LOL) We had one picnic in 2010, and we thought we should have it again since it was fun! We definitely came a long way together, from strangers in the cyber world to real life close friends. Sometimes when i think about it, i would find it quite amazing. If we weren't bloggers, we would have never met. Love you guys, MUACKS ♥

GOT THE BLACKBERRY 9780!

Few months into using the BB 9000, they launched the new Blackberry 9780. So i thought it's time to upgrade to the latest model, which i'm still using now. (FYI: I'm still waiting for the latest 9900 to have the non cam version! I want the touch screen!!!) But honestly inside me, i would prefer the iPhone because of the camera and also the apps. If i'm going Uni, i'm so gonna get the iPhone!

MAY

Invited YZ, JL and Jiaqi to the RSAF Open house!

Even though i already went for it once on the first day, i thought it would be good to bring them to the RSAF open house to let them have an idea what's my job is about! It's not everyday you get to see fighter jets and helicopters parked right infront of your eyes, needless to say, TAKE OFF infront of you! It was even better than NDP! I think they enjoyed themselves as much as i did *beams* (:

JUNE

INVITED TO BE PART OF SINGAPORE SOCIAL MEDIA DAY!

It was more of a charity event organized by bloggers in singapore to raise funds for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund and i was invited to be part of the creative sandwich making contest segment which i have to design a sandwich with a fellow reader! I did the angry birds design, but we did not win though! (Read the post HERE!) Proud that the event was a success!

JULY

BATAM WITH BFFS! ♥

Was brainstorming on what to get for my BFFs for their birthdays so i thought why not treat them for a 2D1N trip to Batam! We get to go overseas over the weekend and i don't have to think what to get for them, killing 2 birds with 1 stone! (but honestly, that "stone" is quite expensive! Getting a present would be SO MUCH cheaper, LOL) Nevertheless, we did enjoyed ourselves over the 2 days!

AUGUST

WENT TO THE NATIONAL DAY PREVIEW WITH BFFs! ♥

The last time i went to a National Day parade was when i was Primary 5! So when Yz said that she has extra tickets, i immediately say yes and invited my 2 BFFs along! The feeling is totally different compared to watching the parade infront of your TV at home! This year's goodie bag not very good!

SEPTEMBER

WENT GENTING WITH AIR FORCE BUDDIES!

It was a VERY impromptu decision to go Genting over the weekends. We booked out on a Friday, took the coach the following night, spent the weekends there, took the coach back on Sunday morning, booked in the following night. HOW CRAZY IS THAT?! But we did had lots of fun! Entered the casino for the first time (lost 200 bucks...), took the Space shot ride (under peer pressure, LOL)

WENT TO SHINEE CONCERT!

The KPOP fever hit Singapore recently and my favourite group, SHINEE came to SG for a concert! Even though i'm not that hardcore to queue for the tickets, i bought them online (at an even much cheaper price) and went for the concert with Joyce and Clarence! IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT!

OCTOBER

After 9 months of hard work, we finally made it and marched proudly on the SAFTI MI parade square infront of our friends and family. This journey hasn't been smooth sailing but the process is something that is forever in my memory. Even though we are now posted to different places, KEEP IN TOUCH!

22nd BIRTHDAY AT MIND CAFE!

Well, did not really have the intention of celebrating it because i felt that 22nd birthday isn't that significant compared to 18th and 21st but i gathered the lucky 7 people to have dinner with me over a Mind Cafe, bought a cake for myself and had a great night with them! Honestly, I think i'm going to stop celebrating from 23rd onwards, kinda lazy to plan my own birthday also. We shall see...

PHUKET TRIP 2011!

Took 2 weeks off from work and decided to head to phuket. Blogged about the trip recently. As mentioned, Phuket wasn't on my list of countries to go, but still, i did not regret as it was a whole new experience! ESPECIALLY THE SNORKELING! It was a good getaway with good company, i had Chris, his GF plus my BFF Nurul to go with me! Came back really tanned from the outdoor activities!

The crazy thing is, 2 days after my Phuket trip, i flew to Hong Kong for another holiday! I did not even managed to unpack my phuket luggage! Really made FULL use of my 2 weeks holiday. Thanks to Wendy who planned this trip because the guys were busy with settling our work stuff. Do look forward to my HK travelogue soon! P.s: I realised i went Hong Kong twice this year!!! I ♥ HK, LOL

NOVEMBER

ROOM REVAMP, LIKE A FINALLY!

Have been saying i want to revamp my room for the longest time but can't seem to find the time to sit down and plan properly on how i want my room to be. Money was also an issue because i wanted to change the entire room! Managed to plan out everything in November and i'm proud to say my room is ALMOST done! Might do a blog post and maybe a vlog on the revamp, in progress (:

DECEMBER

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION AND GIFT EXCHANGES! ♥

One of my favourite month of the year because it's CHRISTMAS! It's also one of the month which i will spend most of my money getting presents for gift exchanges, but i always tell myself it's worth it because i get to meet everyone and celebrate christmas together! Gonna blog about my Christmas soon (but most likely it's gonna dragged till next year due to time constraint, oh wells :|)

Alright, this post concludes my 2011! Year 2012 is gonna be a busy year, especially at work but i still hope that i get to travel overseas more (planning for Japan during mid year!), get a girlfriend (who i hope can eventually be my wife, forward planning, LOL) and also see if my application for Uni is approve, earn more $$ and the list goes on and on... HAPPY NEW YEAR!

4 Day 3 Nights Phuket getaway: Day 3!

After a day outdoor with the sun and the sea on Day 2, it's finally Day 3 of my Phuket travelogue! Here's the LINK to the previous day's post just in case you missed it. Are you ready for more?

Well, i ended the previous day's post saying i had food poisoning but still went for Thai massage. The massage was literally bone cracking. It was quite pain at first but it slowly became comfortable (except for some parts where they shifted your body position to some yoga style!) My masseur ended up asking if i'm feeling unwell because she felt that my body temperature was quite hottt :(

That night was terrible. I was having fever + had to wake up frequently due to diarrhea and nausea.

Couldn't sleep well that night, had a few panadols and still went on with Day 3 activities!

In Phuket, it's common to see motorbikes for rental. You can just rent them ~~even if you don't have a license~~. I heard it's really cheap, maybe less than 30 bucks for a day with a full tank and refills are available everywhere. But i still think it's quite dangerous PLUS what if it get stolen then how?! GG.

For the first 2 days in Phuket, we were asking ourselves, they funny thing is "How come we are staying at Patong Beach but we have never thought of going to the beach?" So on the third day, we headed to the Patong beach first thing in the morning before we start our day activities!

The view at the beach was super nice. Other than the clear waters, we get to see mountains and rocks. People having fun jet skiing, para-sailing, banana boat etc. Activities were quite expensive so we didn't try. Not forgetting we also saw a girl sun bathing ~~topless~~ totally in her own world, LOL

Jet skiing was around 750 Baht i think, which is about 30 dollars for 15 mins. Not worth it i guess.

They offer a chair with a umbrella shelter at 100 Baht ($4) for the whole day, best for those who intend to sun tan or read a book at the beach. We rented one to put our belongings and took turns to take a rest while we explore. Damn relaxing, can easily fall asleep. This kind of life is damn shiokk.

Spotted a HUGE jellyfish that got washed up shore! Quite amazed by it, LOL

There is this woman walking around with a box of fruits under the sun so i thought why not just buy something from her, so i bought a slice of watermelon which was HUGE and i think it cost only 50 Baht! Sweet and refreshing, definitely one of the best fruits to have in this kind of weather (:

From the beach, we took the catered mini van for our day activity (which we purchased the package from the nice lady on Day 1 if you can remember!) The package consist of Snake show, Monkey show and also 30 mins of elephant trekking! The journey to the place took around 20 mins...

The place is called "Phuket Safari" The package cost 600 Baht ($25)

First up would be the Snake show where they show us different type of poisonous snake like the king cobra, pythons and they do various stunts like agitate the snake, kiss the snake etc. Zzz

The trainer showing us the teeth of the snake! He even use a metal spoon to extract out the venom!

Next up would be the Monkey show! Honestly, i thought it was rather cruel to train the monkeys to do its trainers' bidding (i think i watch too much Planet of the Apes) The show was quite nice...

They made the monkeys untie ropes, throw basketballs, do push ups and back flips etc.

Doing the photo taking session, the monkey will auto climb to your head and sit down, LOL

Last but not least, elephant trekking!

Even though this is not my first time sitting on an elephant, there is still this fear whenever i stepped onto the elephant because it just feels so unstable! All they have is just this rope to "prevent" you from falling off the seat. It took around 5 mins before i calmed down and enjoy the trekking, LOL

I always thought the route was those normal straight route but i was wrong. The elephant went up and down steep slopes (it was really scary, if fall then really GG le!), into waters. Half the time i was hoping the trekking would come to an end as soon as possible. Like i had enough! Ending?

By the way, i was still feeling sick that day. Anyway, they fetched us back to the hotel after the trekking so we rested before another car came to fetch us for our night activity! Simon Cabaret!

Simon Cabaret is a well known show in Phuket. It features a spectacular musical floor show performed by the world famous "lady boys" of Simon Cabaret. We paid 600 baht for VIP seats!

I did the research online and this is one of the must watch in Phuket!

VIP seats ticket at 600 Baht ($25) each. We had the 3rd row from the front, really good seats!

Took a group photo before the show starts. No photo taking or videography allowed during the show so we kept our camera. I would say this show is definitely worth watching! They did musicals such as Burlesque, different cultures such as Korea. Their costumes are damn kua zhang and some of them (or should i say most of them) REALLY look like females! I stared at them for a really long time because a few of them really caught my attention. They are even prettier than real girls! OMG.

At the end of the show, all these performers will line up outside the theater for you to take photos with them, you must tip them at 25 Baht ($1) each, which i thought was rather reasonable...

I was thinking in my mind, "Are they happy with their current life after their 'transformation'? Are they hiding something behind their smiles?" That's probably something i will never know. 4 Day 3 Nights Phuket getaway: Day 2!

Before i begin, just in case you did not read the Day 1 post for whatever reason, here's the LINK (clickable) to it! The previous day was mainly getting around Phuket after arriving, checking out their night life, (especially Bangla street, LOL) Now it's Day 2, that's when the real phuket action begins!

You know how we always see photos or movies that has beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters and people swimming with the fishes then you secretly ask yourself, "Will i ever see this scene in real life?" I never thought i would one day be able to see it which is why i've decided to come to Phuket!

In case you forgot, we booked the Phi Phi island tour when we arrived in Phuket the day before.

Bought like 5 of these singlets in the above photo the night before at only $5 each after bargaining! Should have just brought an empty luggage over to Phuket since everything is available there lor!

Phuket is one of the places where you can wear singlet everywhere without feeling awkward!

Always wanted a straw hat since the Batam trip and i finally bought it in Phuket! With my newly bought straw hat (250 Baht), I ♥ Phuket singlet and new slippers, i totally look like a tourist! The Phi Phi tour package includes transport to the pier to take the ferry (8am!) and the trip took 30 mins!

Got our boarding passes to Phi Phi island which include an hour of snorkeling! *excited*

After the ferry was full, we moved off and little did we know that it's gonna around 2 hours before we reach our destination! Nevertheless, the view was great and since we had nothing to do, photos!

Past by many of these little islands, or should i say HUGE rocks in the middle of nowhere!

Everytime i feel like traveling, the first person i would think of would be Nurul ♥

Breath taking rock formation but wait, look down, THE WATER IS CLEAR!!!! ZOMG.

They shortly announced over the boat's PA system and told us that we have reached our snorkeling destination and everyone is to collect their life vest and goggles! I was so damn excited and scared at the same time. Seriously jump off the boat into the water? We have totally no idea how deep it is!

Collected our gears and instead of going straight for the waters...

WE DECIDED TO TAKE A SILLY PHOTO OF OURSELVES, LOLOLOLOL

Before we go on, let me share more about my underwater film camera! Ever since i confirmed that i'm going to Phuket, the first thing on my mind was to get one of those underwater film camera that i saw before so i can have photos of myself snorkeling (which is obviously main highlight of this trip!)

I went to a few places, visited blogshops, finally bought it plus the 35mm films and waited for this day. While everyone was swimming, i was busy snapping photos, winding the films, taking one photo after another. After that, all i did was to pray (really really) hard that the photos will turn out well...

GUESS WHAT?! THEY DID TURN OUT PERFECTLY WELL! The next 9 to 10 photos below are taken using the film camera and the images came out quite nice, especially those taken under water! OMG.

#5: Underwater shots! So happy the underwater photo turned out clear!!! People onboard the boat was throwing pieces of bread into the water and the fishes rushed towards the food! Look at the bottom right hand photo, SO MANY FISHES! Like hundreds of them right infront of me!!! So happy!

It doesn't even feel like an hour and we were told to slowly make our way up :(

Overall it was quite an experience! The water is SUPER SALTY, i had a few sip of it. It would literally cause me a sore throat. The goggles was quite uncomfortable, especially the biting part. I gave up after awhile and just held my breath while enjoying the gorgeous view underwater. But still fun fun!

The wet 4 of us happy that we had such an experience! ♥

Returned our gears and headed to the deck to dry ourselves.

That's when i realised a bunch of Indian aunties was pointing and glancing at me. I was wondering why until... one of them asked me, "We noticed you brought a camera down into the water, did you take any photos? Can we see?" I explained to them that it was a film camera, need to develop, LOL

The easiest way to dry ourselves would be to sit outside and just let the sun shine on us!

THANK GOD the staffs brought our fruits like watermelon and pineapples for us to quench our thirst because my throat was so dry from the salt water! I guess they know how we are feeling afterall.

Apparently, this is known as the "Viking cave" Gosh, look at the clear waters!!!

After another 30 mins or so, we slowly arrived on Phi Phi island...

Had to pay an "entrance" fee for the maintenance of the island. Cheat tourist money lor!

Everyone from different ferries alighted and literally swarmed the whole island.

Apparently we were too engrossed with taking photos that we lost the entire tour group so we had to search the whole island for familiar faces so that we could have our buffet lunch (which is part of the Phi Phi island package!) Managed to locate them after asking for directions. Phew, heng ah...

Simple "buffet" lunch. Did not really expect much, still quite okay.

Explored the island quite abit and got home made ice cream and donuts! ♥

Saw this fish spa store offering 150 Baht per person! which is around 6 bucks! CHEAP!!!

Little did we expect that they will wash our feet before allowing us to dip our feet into the pool!

Waited for Chris so the 3 of us took photos around the shop, haha! While we were "feeding" the fishes, the kind shopkeeper offered to help take photos for us. She literally took shots of us from different angles. From the side, from the front, from the top etc, why so professional one. LOL

Anyway, we still bought the souvenior (100 Baht/ $5) and headed back to the hotel...

Just nice there was a mobile store selling roasted corn just below our hotel, yum yum (:

It looks really delicious and cost only $2? (Keyword - "looks") LOL

Went back to our hotel to refreshed up and head out for dinner! This place near our hotel serves all day breakfast so we ordered sandwiches, American breakfast, scrambled eggs etc. While waiting for the food, i realised i was feeling cold, literally shivering hard, stomachache and feeling nausea (?!)

It was like the ultimate combo. I couldn't take it and went back to the hotel alone, vomited the food that i had earlier in the day, had diarrhoea for a couple of times, and eventually led to fever. Based on my Saint John experience, i knew i had food poisoning. I was feeling terrible. Seriously FML tyvm.

Not wanting to waste any time. I still went for thai massage. LOL

4 Day 3 Nights Phuket getaway: Day 1!

It has been about 2 months since i came back from Phuket! Took damn long to edit the photos :| Honestly speaking, i have never thought of going Phuket. It was never on my list of places i want to go, i had Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Bangkok, Paris ++ on my list but not Phuket. But after reading phuket/krabi travelogues on a few blogs, i had the urge to visit that place to see how it's like! LOL

Took 2 weeks off from work and booked a 4days 3nights trip to Phuket with BFF Nurul, Chris and his girlfriend! Actually we bought a travel deal from a site but we did not manage to book the trip in time. (Requirement was to book one month in advance, and i still have the 4 tickets with me now -__-) So we had to last minute-ly book another trip! Almost couldn't make the booking in time. Phew.

I would say this trip was a totally different experience. Normally when i go overseas, it would be a shopping trip. But this time, it was a more relaxing and outdoor experience. I snorkeled with the fishes in the sea, ride on elephants, ~~stared at transgenders~~ and many more! Enough said, let's start!

Took an afternoon flight over to Phuket!

Managed to settle the flight tickets just the night before flying off. I think the system purposely give lousy seats when booking then expect you to pay extra $3/seat to exchange de lor. Extra $12 lor!

This is like the 4th time i'm traveling overseas with Nurul! KL, Hong Kong, Batam, now Phuket!

Total of about 900 photos combined so i had to sit down and slowly filter them. Delete the blur ones, choose the ones to blog (about 160 of them!) and was thinking of how to edit them. I decided to give EVERY single photo the vignette effect! Some worked really well but some can't really see...

It was drizzling in Singapore and i was praying that it won't rain in Phuket! *cross fingers*

The view from the plain was breath taking! Quite amazed by clouds formation.

Air Asia was not bad, like more spacious! The flight took about 3 hours and we landed in Phuket. We had to get a cab to the hotel which was about 45 mins away but before we could get a cab...

We were approached by this booth which was selling tour packages. The catch was, if we book their package, the cab fare to and fro the hotel to the airport would be FREE! (or should i say included in the package?) We thought it was a rather good deal so we booked the Phi Phi island tour there!

At the airport, they gave out FREE sim cards! Inside the sim card is maybe 4 baht for you to make one or two phone calls or surf the net for awhile. After that if you want to continue using, you can buy the top up card or go to any convenient store. I think they quite smart, can earn from tourist like that. But since i don't make any calls and only uses the mobile broadband to update my twitter, my sim card surprisingly managed to last throughout the 4 days there! I still go and take extra leh :|

After 45 min, we finally reached our hotel - Seeka Boutique Resort!

After we unpacked, Nurul and i decided to take a walk and see what we could get since we were quite hungry. Opposite our hotel, there's this "store" selling chicken rice/ noodles! It's my first attempt at trying out street food in Phuket! ~~It was about to be my last too, talk about it later.~~

Fried chicken chop with 2 packs of sticky rice! 40 Baht. The exchange rate is $1 = 24 Baht (:

Head over to their "7 eleven" and got drinks too! Love the glass bottles, collected the caps ♥

By the time we unpacked and finish eating, it was about evening already. So we decided to wait for the hotel's shutter bus to bring us to the shopping center to walk walk and have dinner! Nightlife!

JUNGCEYLON SHOPPING CENTER! (I have no idea what does jungceylon means...)

They have this HUGE water fountain at the center of the shopping center. Apparently they have a water and light show every night but we did not bother to stay and watch, food more important, LOL

Went to the supermarket to grab ~~some~~ snacks to put in our room. We got carried away :|

Had to look for this kind of adapter because the plug in our room does not fit our chargers. After searching for awhile, we found this one on sale at just 4 BAHT. I seriously couldn't believe my eyes. 4 BAHT?! I repeat the exchange rate, $1 = 24 Baht. So this adapter cost 24 cents? Wow.

Took the receipt, wanting to split the cost only to realised we can't understand anything on it. FOL

They have these little booths at the shopping center selling handmade stuffs too!

Time for dinner! Normally the first thing people would go for when they are at Phuket or Thailand would be to try their authentic Tom yum or whatever thai food but we opt for URBAN FOOD instead.

Ordered a Mango smoothie to share with BFF. Super delicious, made with REAL mangoes. Not like the one in Singapore where they just use the syrup, add ice and water then ta dah! Mango smoothie -__- This is the kind where if you drink too much, you literally might get a sore throat, LOLOLOLOLOL

The set that i ordered comes with a serving at the Salad bar! Self service, but i don't take veggie.

After eating, we decided to leave the mall (there's nothing much in the mall anyway, typical.) Time to hit the streets to checkout phuket's exciting nightlife! I've heard so much about their night life, especially their ~~ping pong show~~! Anyway, while walking along the streets, we bought 8 singlets! Shouldn't have brought any clothes to phuket, can just buy there lor! Bring already never wear...

There's this popular Bangla street which everyone must go when they are at phuket! It's like a long stretch of road selling all sorts of things. From slippers to clothes to DVDs etc. There is one lane which has all the pubs and apparently people are crowding outside the one in the photo above! We didn't know the exact reason until the last night. You will know in the Day 4 post, heehee

Bought one Chocolate pancake and one Banana pancake! Made right on the spot!

Cost about 40 Baht each, which is less than $2. Taste not bad, cannot find in Singapore.

After walking and shopping for awhile, we came across this store where we can book activities in Phuket! Actually there's alot of these stores which offers different prices for the same package so you have to survey around and find the most worth it one! (Esp with transport to & fro hotel!!!!)

We randomly asked a few stores and this one (opposite Mcdonalds) offers the best price and she bothers to explains every single detail of the activities! So we booked two packages from her to fill up our activities for the 3rd day! "Trekking" in the day and Simon Cabaret show in the night! Settled!

Took a tuk tuk back to the hotel as it was getting late. What an experience ♫

Alright, that's all for Day 1! The next day would be a whole day out at sea on the Phi Phi island tour! My main objective for this Phuket trip was to snorkel! Never thought i would be trying it out one day, out in the crystal clear water among the fishes...

Frank by OCBC: I got my card!

Throughout the past few months, i have been receiving invites in my email by FrankbyOCBC for their launch of their new FRANK cards but i haven't been replying their emails (so sorry!) due to my own commitments (even though i was really really interested in the card!) So finally i managed to get some time off and RSVP-ed for their most recent event which is the opening of the Vivocity outlet!

Look at the amount of bloggers attending the event! We were given a task which is to design our own "name tag" to identify ourselves. There were markers, lots of stickers, tapes and what not for us to decorate our tag! I thought it was a rather innovative way for us to identify ourselves (:

Here's my tag! Simple but not bad right! LOL

What i really like about the FRANK cards is that we are able to choose from a wide range of designs available! It's not like the other debit/ credit cards where everyone only has that one design. FRANK allows you to change the design whenever you want, and all you have to do is pay a small sum for that exchange! Now we don't have to stick to one boring design for our debit/ credit cards! Cool :D

Finally got my card after 3 weeks! Chose the "Broadway" design, love it! ♥ If i ever get bored of the design, all i have to do is just drop by one of the FRANK store, choose another design, pay a small sum ranging from about $0 to $50 (depending on design) and wait for the new card to arrive! Here's a game that allows you to learn and win yourself some amazing prizes!

The National Council Against Drug Abuse (NCADA) and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) are organising an Anti-drug Online Gaming Challenge on the ‘Life Does Not Rewind’ Facebook fan page - facebook.com/lifedoesnotrewind (clickable!) from 05 December 2011 to 26 February 2012.

Every month from December 2011 till January 2012, an online game will be launched on the Facebook fan page and each game will have a challenge period of four weeks, where players can submit their scores in a bid to win the weekly prizes worth $150 and an iPad 2. All three games will remain on the ‘Life Does Not Rewind’ Facebook page for one year even after the challenge period.

"JUMP JUMP RESCUE" is the first game introduced and the challenge period would be from 5 December 2011 till 1 January 2012. The player with the highest score will win a 32GB iPad 2 and there will be another 16 winners who will win Resorts World Sentosa vouchers worth $150 (the vouchers can be used to purchase USS tickets!) Now who's excited to win the amazing prizes!!! :D

Just simple instructions on how to play the game.

Basically, all you have to do is use the "A" and "D" keys to move your character left and right, collect the balloons/ hit the birds and jump as high as possible! Along the way, you might hit obstacles in the form of drugs which may hinder your process but there are bonus in the game too!

Drugs such as the cannabis will make your character experience symptoms of drug abuse!

The character gets disoriented and has to press left to go right, and vice versa.

Here's one of the bonuses i talked about earlier! Upon reaching the height of between 15,000m to 25,000m, a hot air balloon will appear and take your character higher and higher! At the same time, allowing you to take a short break and snippets of drug information will appear for you to read :D

Guess what! You may also encounter drug quizzes if you hit the question mark. Getting a correct answer will boost the character upwards, while a wrong answer will push the character downwards!

Here's my score for my first try! LOL

Even though this game may seem simple, but there's actually a meaning behind it. As the tag line suggest, "Life does not rewind", there isn't a "undo" button which allows your character to go back to the previous step and can only advance. Once you miss the balloon, you go down.

It's a very simple concept game, easy to play (just 2 buttons, LOL) and you can easily get the hang of it. Honestly i had fun trying to get a high score, testing myself by answering the quizzes correctly so that i can add bonus height! There are always moments in your life where by you will question yourself, "If i were given another chance at that point of time, would i have done things differently?" There are definitely choices that we regret, there are decisions that could have been made better but guess what? The truth is, life cannot be rewind. So my advice would be, make the right choice, stick by it and never regret.

Just like the character in the game, hitting a drug may cause you to lose the game due to the effects of it. So we try to avoid any obstacles there is and move ahead, climb higher and higher.

"In real life, there's no rewinding, and that one will suffer for drug abuse."

Toy Poodle! ♥

It's a known fact to my friends that i ♥ toy poodle and i would totally love to own one but i'm afraid i don't have the time to commit. Actually i think my mum would be in charge of doing all the cleaning, bathing and my sis and i would be in charge of playing with it, LOL (which is what happened to my previous 2 dogs!) So better not. During Calvin's birthday partyyy, Mint brought her toy poodle along!

It was afraid of the crowd and was clinging onto Mint's arm tightly! Awwwwwwwwww ♥

I've never been so up close with a toy poodle before. I was simply amazed by it, LOL

Selling my Minimo-X Digi Lomo Camera!

Just as the title suggests, i've decided to sell my Minimo-x digital lomo camera which i got about 1 month ago. Condition is perfect and it comes with a 4GB memory card. As much as i always wanted it, i realised i don't really have the time to play with it. I think i used it 2 times ever since i got it. Zzz

Strictly Pancakes!

If you haven't notice, i'm always in search for places that serve good food or have good ambience thus the amount of food posts on this blog! One day i will just sit down infront my blog and start categorizing them into different labels. Here's another place that i want to share with you guys!

I have heard so much about this place from friends, on food blogs so i randomly tweeted on my birthday if anyone was interested to drop by Strictly Pancake to try out some of their creations!

Above we have Clarence and Calvin, busy checking into their Foursquare while waiting, LOL

Flipping the menu a few times, we were seriously spoilt for choice! Everything sounds good.

By the time you read this post, i would have already visited Strictly Pancakes twice! I would say Strictly Pancake is a good place to hang out with friends and chill for desserts, actually even for main course. If you think the Pancakes will not make you full, you are wrong. I actually felt quite full having 2 thick pancakes with ham and 2 eggs! I feel that it's abit pricey for Pancakes though...

#22nd Birthday at Mind Cafe!

Never really intended to celebrate my 22nd birthday. Still remember last year 21st was held at Mcdonalds, it was quite a fun night whereby everyone had to wear that silly Mcdonalds hat and play games like "Passing the rubber band", "Charades", eat Happy meals etc. This year, all i wanted was a thunderbolt shaped cake and a simple dinner with the usual peeps (which didn't happen, LOLOLOLOL)

I didn't want to celebrate it at first because i felt that 22nd wasn't that significant and did you realised that after you turn 21, most likely you will be planning for your own birthday instead? Yes?

Anyway, this year's 22nd was last minute-ly planned. I had about a week to research and finally settled on The Mind Cafe. Just a simple dinner and board games session for 8, ending it with a cake!

Decided on the Prinsep street outlet! Yes, along the same street as Strictly Pancake!

We have Li mei, Yingzi, Joyce, Mel, Jing Long, Josh and Jiaqi! Lucky 7 ♥

I did abit of research and we'll be going for the Mega meal with meal course and 3 hours of games!

They have a a whole range of board games for you to choose from. I think we have not heard about 80% of them. But there are people who will explain the rules of the games to you patiently...

After ordering our food, that's when the real "game" begins. They told me, "You know how Running man works? There are 3 running balls hidden in this cafe and you have to complete the mission. That's your birthday mission." That's when i realised, they came much earlier just to plant the "balls"!!! I was seriously damn surprised. I was like, "You guys seriously came earlier?!"

I have no idea why and how but i managed to just walk to the balls unknowingly. LOL

Task #1: Call a person on your contact list to make him/her say, "You sound weird today"

First person i thought of was BFF Nurul, and we started chatting and i randomly said i wanted to bring hoodie to Phuket just in case it will be cold (We were flying off to Phuket within the next few days and Phuket is DAMN HOT AND SUNNY) and managed to make her say that i sound weird (:

Task #2: Take a photo with a girl that you think is the prettiest in the shop.

I didn't really take a look at all the girls at the cafe so i just randomly went to the next table and told this girl, "It's my birthday today and i'm supposed to take a photo with the prettiest girl here, can you take a photo with me?" Heng, she take with me. I gave her some sweets lehhh, LOL

Task #3: Find 3 miniature figurines in the shop.

I think this is the hardest because i have NO idea what kind of figurines i'm supposed to look for. I even tried asking the waitress if this figurines belong to the shop (which they themselves have no idea also -.-) I took like the longest time and finally found the 3 figurines. Super random, Phew.

Every "ball" contain sweets and the next mission. They wrote their wishes on the ball too ♥

By the time we finish the Running ball game, the food are all here! YAYYYYYY

In the meantime, we started playing board games! First up was Jenga!

First time playing Snorta, which i think is the highlight board game of the day!

Lazy to explain the game but in a nutshell, we have to call out the sound of the animal of each other whenever the same cards appear. Memory game! So it's damn funny when everyone start going QUACK QUACK, or MEOW MEOW or OINK OINK, damn noisy but fun! Took videos but lazy to edit, LOL

No thunderbolt shaped cake, but there's my favourite tiramisu from Bakerzin!

It's damn awkward when you buy a birthday cake for yourself. I went to the Tampines outlet to reserve the cake at the Paragon outlet and the manager ask me to write the message that i want on the cake, so i wrote "Happy Birthday" so she asked, "No name?" In my mind i was thinking, if i wrote "Happy Birthday Andy" she will know i'm buying the cake for myself. #theawkwardmomentwhen

Used up one pack of coloured instax films to take individual shots (and 3 group shots) with everyone! By the way, do you know that they discontinued coloured instax film already? It's almost impossible to find it anymore. The rest are all the remaining stocks in the market. I only got 1 pack left :(

Had a fun night that day and i guess the money to plan this event is worth it afterall since i managed to gather everyone to have eat and have fun together! Whether i will celebrate my 23rd, we will leave it to next year to decide again, LOL

I BOUGHT A CAPSULE CLAW MACHINE!

Went to Hong Kong recently and was contemplating on getting a CAPSULE CLAW MACHINE back to Singapore. I remember seeing it once in Singapore (can't remember when) and i badly want it. Not to really play with it but to display it because how often do we get to see something like this?

After bargaining with the shop keeper and considering for a long time, i decided to get it in the end. But the next problem is, how to bring it back to Singapore? I can't possibly check it in because if they throw it around, the plastic will definitely break... Trust me, the fragile tag DOESN'T work.

I hand carried it on the plane back to Singapore!

Quite amazed by how it works (exactly like those in the arcade!) and i'm gonna start collecting capsules and cute little figurines such as the tofu and display this machine in my room!

Virgin Prawning experience!

Prawning seem to be like ~~almost~~ everyone's favourite hobby now. I read it on some blogs, i've heard friends asking each other if they wanna go prawning together late at night etc. It's like, "Nothing to do ah? Go prawning lor. Can waste time, and got prawn to eat somemore" So finally IT'S MY TURN.

Decided to head over to the one at Bishan, recommended by Jiaqi.

1 hour $15. 2 hours $25. 3 hours $30. Anyone would go for the 3 hrs obviously. 1 hour catch what?

Gave us this ~~disgusting~~ bait. Honestly i have no idea what it is. Liver? Meat?

The hook is REALLY sharp. While hooking the bait, i accidentally pierce it into my finger. #FML

Josh's friends came to join us about 20 mins later and once they put their rod into the pool...

ONE OF THEM CAUGHT A FREAKIN' HUGE PRAWN.
While we caught nothing for the past 20 mins!!! Why like this one?!

Still no hope. No movement for 20 mins... So i decided to...

Ordered prata and wait for the prawn to auto hook onto the bait. LOLOLOLOL

While the guy tries their best to catch, the girl just have to wait to pose for the photo! AHAHAHA

Ok, finally a decent size prawn! 3 cheers for Josh! I just realised our tee is somewhat similar!

Amazed by my camera's macro function.

I FINALLY CAUGHT ONE DECENT LOOKING ONE!!!!! MUAHAHAHHA

After around 2 hours plus, this is the amount of prawns that we caught. Josh commented that this is so far his worst catch throughout his "prawning days" Why we no beginner luck one?!

Now here comes the drama. Jing long wanted to see how many prawns we caught in total so he lifted up the net basket out of the water to see see but he DID NOT hook it back properly. As a result, the whole basket disappeared into the water! AHAHHAHAHAHA

Then we tried to "fish" the net out from the water! After several attempts, we finally managed to retrieve the basket but guess what? There were only 2 prawns left. Why didn't the 2 prawns escape? One died and the other was almost dying. The rest happily swam away... #FOL tyvm.

LOOK AT JING LONG'S GUILTY FACE! AHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Josh friend's catch! Look at all the HUGE prawns. We only contributed 2 ~~dead~~ ones, LOL

Now's the part that none of us have any idea what to do with the prawns.
(Thank god for josh and his friends!)

So what we are supposed to do is to wash the prawn, put the satay stick in and add some salt.

I helped to pose for photos while the rest do the job. Don't judge me!

All ready to be barbecued!!! Can't believe we have to poke the satay stick through them ALIVE.

I like it when the prawns turn orange. The colour like very nice, LOL

Well, i would say my first prawning experience was quite "enriching" I realised a lot of patience and concentration is needed (which i obviously don't have -.-) but still! I will still go prawning with the right company (i think no one will want to go prawning with me after reading this post, LOL) I think prawning at night with a bunch of good friends would be fun!

In a blink of an eye, one year passed. I still remember celebrating my 21st birthday at Mcdonalds last year. Turning 22 doesn't seem much significant to me, it just meant that another year had passed! Met up with BFFs for dinner on the actual day (Nurul and i were flying off to Phuket the next day!)

It's been quite awhile since i last saw the both of them! ♥

You know there are 2 types of friendship? One where by you meet up often to maintain the relationship (I'm not saying if you don't meet up often, you will lose contact duh!) The other would be, even though you don't meet up often, you still care for each other and when you meet up, you will have countless things to talk about! Well, i can proudly say my BFFs and i are the 2nd type (:

Anyway, they got me this HUGE ASS balloon on that day. (It's still floating around my house.)

I had to carry it wherever i go in the shopping mall and into the restaurant! Not only that, even on the crowded train! I was contemplating whether to take a cab home to avoid the crowd. LOL

We had Sushi Tei! I swear their ramen is damn good! ♥♥♥♥♥

I'm always constantly looking for concept cafes and restaurants and this time, i visited Raindrops cafe at 2 Orchard link, outside *Scape! Actually i find the cafe situated at a quite ulu spot and not many people would notice the cafe unless they really open up their eyes and see properly. LOLOLOL

A small cafe with limited seats inside. Just nice that day was raining. Raindrop cafe, geddit?

I like how they decorate the interior. Simple yet innovative.

This has got to be one of the most overdue post ever! I think i edited the photos like 1 month ago but was too lazy to add in the words. Finally decided put in the words. Some time ago, i got myself 68 movie tickets to a private screening of Cars 2! Imagine the whole cinema all to myself! MUAHAHA

I was in camp and i only had about a week to plan my private screening and invite 68 people! Where to find! To make things easier for myself, i decided to give some to my friends, my air force mates and also hold a mini giveaway on my twitter so that i get to meet my blog readers in real life too!

Moreover, the screening was held at 10AM in the morning! How many people would actually wake up on a Saturday morning, travel all the way to town just to catch a movie? I specifically stated in my twitter giveaway and i was so touched when so many readers are willing make the trip down! ♥

Last minute-ly managed to get 2 tickets from a online seller. The trick is to wait for the very last few days before the concert where everyone is selling their tickets, then they will sell it cheap! LOL

TOTALLY enjoyed the concert! Especially when they sang Lucifer!!!

Security was quite tight that day and photo taking is not allowed -__- But i couldn't stop myself from taking out the camera to take a shot of them when they were suspend in the air, shooting out laser beams from their hands and singing Lucifer. LOL

McDonald's Monopoly Game!

Reached home last weekend and saw a huge parcel on my table, I ripped open the parcel and it was a Monopoly Singapore edition set! I think this is the 2nd monopoly set that i owned so far. The first set was the original UK set and now i own a Singapore set with our very own landmarks and places such as Marina Bay, Sentosa Cove, Orchard Road, Tampines MRT etc on the board! How cool is that?

Looking through the lens of La Sardina!

Before i go on, let's have a recap of my LoBlography journey for the past few weeks! Well, around 2 weeks before, 20 lucky bloggers got hold of the La Sardina from Lomography as part of the Loblography Blogger Challenge Singapore! (You can read my post HERE!) Here's a photo of us!

All excited and hyped up for the challenge!

After getting hold of the La Sardina, i experimented with it at different areas like Haji lane, Bugis etc! After which, i brought the negative film to Triple D to develop the photos. Meanwhile, sharing my personalized view on the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography on my blog! (Read the post HERE!)

It has been a long time since i last saw negatives! Nostalgic ♥

Without further ado, let me share with you my favourite 10 photos that i took!

Photo #1: Last weekend, Jiaqi and Joyce (she brought out her cute Hello kitty diana mini) accompanied me to Haji lane and i took this photo of them while waiting for the green man!

Photo #2: Upon reaching Haji lane, i decided to take a photo using multi exposure!

Photo #3: A shop at Haji lane was selling vintage looking bicycles! So old school!

Photo #4: Another multi exposure shot! Basically i took a frontal photo of Haji lane and using
the MX mode of the La Sardina, i took another photo of this queer looking broken ceramic tiles.

Photo #5: This has got to be my favourite shot! The amazing thing about lomo film cameras is that you never know what's the end result. Basically this is another multi exposure shot. First would be the background of Haji lane and the other is the metal grills of a shop! Amazing combination ♥

Photo #6: Another of my favourite shot! I was waiting to cross the road and i decided to take a shot but with NOT only 2 times multi exposure, but i tried 4 shots on the same film! Trying to maintain the same background yet take different cars at different shot. Love the end result!

Photo #7: Thought it was quite cool to take a photo of foreign workers mending the road at Bugis.

Photo #8: Went over to Bugis Village and decided to take a photo of myself. Instead of just one shot of myself, i tried to incorporate the crowd into the photo. Quite satisfied with the photo.

Photo #9: Totally didn't expect a crowd at the Bencoolen street area! It felt almost like Chinatown during the Chinese New Year season. I like the dark edges vintage lomo effect in this photo!

Photo #10: Last but not least, I was quite surprised when i saw this photo! Because of the sun rays, this photo of the temple turn out beautifully. Bringing out the antique photo effect ♥

Continued from Part 1 (Click HERE to read if you haven't!) After spending the morning at the theme park, we checked into our hotel rooms at around 3pm+, freshen up and went for lunch! ♥

About 1 week before my Genting trip, i was reading QiuQiu's blog and she blogged about going to some strawberry farm at Genting so i thought i would definitely go visit it this time since i'm already there. I'm even prepared to go there myself just to take a look at the place! Strawberry farm leh!

In the end, everyone decided to go! Took the cable car down from Genting. Only 5 bucks SGD per pax for a 2 way trip! So freakin' cheap! Imagine taking the cable car in Singapore, which easily cost 6 times more than Genting! I think the Genting cable car ride is way higher than Singapore too!!!!

The cable car ride takes around 15 mins to reach the bottom. The scenery was breath taking!

There's supposed to be a shuttle bus that bring us to the Strawberry farm (from what i read on QiuQiu's blog) but we can't seem to find it. In the end we decided to take a cab and the cab driver suggested to bring us to the chocolate "farm" then the Strawberry farm... Patronize him lor.

The truth is... It's hard to even spot a fully ripe chio strawberry. Don't know we are suay or what, there's almost nothing to look at in the farm. Nothing to pluck. It was almost a futile trip until...

We spotted a photo taking booth with parrots and snakes. LOL

We spent the next 30 mins taking photos with birds and snakes, which i thought was quite cool since i have never done it before. No strawberries never mind, at least got cute photos to take, LOLOL

Celebrated Ben's birthday in the club too! While the rest are drinking and enjoying...

A few of us decided to go to the casino to try our luck!

It was my first time stepping into the casino (As usual, i always kena aim to check passport just to prove that i'm above 21. Singapore like that, Malaysia also like that -.-) It was a brand new experience stepping into the casino, looking at the different games, jackpots etc, trying my luck at simple ones, the excitement while playing and also in the end losing 200 bucks inside. It's ok! LOL

In the end went back to the hotel at around 4am (?!) Immediately jumped onto the bed to sleep because we were supposed to wake up at 7.30am and meet at 8 for breakfast (Which is quite impossible lor!) In the end we woke up at around 9am. Everyone half dead from last night's activities!

I think i was still half awake and told the cashier i wanted Sausage Mc Muffin with egg. By the time i realised i ordered wrongly, i was too pai seh to change my order -__-

Wanted to try the SKY VENTURE the day before but couldn't find a time slot that suit our plan!

Left Genting at around 11.30am, took 2 motion sickness pills after my Mcdonalds meal and it really works wonders! No wonder it's a controlled drug, or else people confirm abuse it to make themselves sleep better. I slept all the way until the same stop that they brought us before...

Bought Bubble gums back! I ♥ this watermelon flavoured gum!

Arrived in Singapore at about 6pm. Took a cab back home and prepared to book in 4 hours later! Overall it was an AWESOME experience even though it was a simple 2 days 1 night trip. (Technically 3D2N if we include that night on the bus, LOL) That's all for my Genting trip!

If you have been following me on my twitter actively, you would have know that i recently acquired the La Sardina camera from Lomography as part of the LoBlography Blogger Challenge Singapore! 20 lucky bloggers from Singapore are chosen to try out the Super wide angle Sardine can camera! ♥

Went over to Red dot museum for the briefing and also to collect the La Sardina!

My very first lomography camera! ♥

Whenever i want the "lomo" effect on my photos, i can only do 2 things - Either #1: edit it using photoshop or #2: directly take the photos using apps like instagram. I have never used a real lomo cam, take photos with it and developed it out at shops. So this is gonna be a brand new experience!

Every blogger was given different types of films to try out and i got the 100 elite chrome!

The very first day i got the camera, i unbox-ed it! Quite impressed by how they packaged it!

Love taking shots through the wide angle viewfinder! It gives a different feel~

Being super noob-ish, i had to read the instructions CAREFULLY on how to load the film.

DONE! (I seriously hope i did it correctly.)

I was thinking of places to take photos using the La Sardina and Haji lane was one of my options!

The fun part about taking photos using a film camera is definitely the taking and winding part!

The La Sardina has a 22mm Wide Angel Plastic Lens, A MX switch (for cool multiple exposures), 2 focusing settings and Bulb settings for long exposures! I just finished the 36 shots yesterday and will be bringing it to the shop to develop it! Can't wait to see the end results!

Weekend Genting Getaway Part 1!

Finally managed and filter all the Genting photos! A grand total of 400+ photos taken over a span of 2 days and filtered down to 115 photos just to blog! I was in camp with my Air force mates and we randomly thought of going somewhere for a weekend getaway. First choice was Batam after looking at some deals online, but after much consideration, we decided to go Genting! 2 days 1 night trip! :D

Honestly, it's quite crazy to go Genting over the weekends because #1: We booked out from camp at 5pm on Friday and our coach is at 10.30pm. 5 hours to prepare. #2: Coach back to SG on Sunday is at 12pm, and we have to book in back to camp the following night! How crazy can it get! LOL

Everyone still manged to make it in time and we went to Golden Mile to have Thai dinner!

Perhaps the only photo that you can find me awake! I took 2 motion sickness pills before i board the bus and it's so strong that i could feel the drowsiness effect like 15 mins later! Fell asleep after the M'sia checkpoint. The next thing i know, we came to a stop for a toilet break and some food...

After the 20 mins pit stop break, i fell asleep once again on the bus (Thanks to the motion sickness pills) and i slept all the way. The next time i knew, i was already in Genting! This is the first time my journey to Genting has been so smooth! It's like literally closing your eyes and the next thing you arrived at your destination! I choked on the air when i arrive because of the air pressure -__-

#Random photo of Genting indoor. Nothing much changed since the last time i was here though.

Test shot #1: Decided to take another group photo! This time with our RED passport!

The above photo was (almost) perfect, until i realised Martin's transformer passport cover is BLUE! Had to photoshop it Red so that it looks complete. Quite obvious which is the "blue" passport right?

By the time we finish our breakfast and walk around, went into the casino for a look, it was around 7.30am so we decided to head to the themepark which opens at 8am! The usual price for the themepark tickets is around RM62 but we purchased it online and it was only half the price! (Y)

4 balls. Just throw them into the big pail. 3 balls for a medium prize, 4 balls for the jumbo prize. Sounds like the easiest game but guess what? We didn't win despite trying a few million times! Each time was RM6! Only until the end we realised how the stall keepers try to trick us. Waste $$ -.-

Next up, we went for Go kart! I remember the last time i came, i had to queue for damn long just for that 5 min ride. But since we are super early, we didn't have to wait very long! YAYYYYYYYYY

I seriously wonder what i was thinking that made me laugh so happily, LOL

Up next: The corkscrew roller coaster!

Only 7 of them taking the ride. Me and oddball decided to opt out, LOL

I have been to Genting for so many times but this is one of the rides i refuse to take. Freakin' Scary.

Next up: Space Shot! Before we went to Genting, i already told everyone that i die die also won't take the Space shot ride because of my height phobia. Call me scaredy cat or anything i also will accept! I just won't go up that ride! Literally Nothing can make me go up and freak myself out.

Once again, the 7 of them went up the ride. LOL

Secretly bought Mini donuts to enjoy while they are on the space shot. Only a few of them know!

They were like telling me how exhilarating and fun the ride is and i won't regret the feeling. It's like a must try when people come to Genting themepark. But it's still a No for me. Then they ask me to choose between the Corkscrew and the Spaceshot. That's when i accidentally blurt out, "I rather take the spaceshot then that roller coaster lor!" Oh wells, the next thing i know...

I'm queuing up to take the space shot, peer pressure -__-

Bye Bye.

It felt like forever to reach the top.
I couldn't enjoy the beautiful scenery because specs was not allowed.
I couldn't scream because there was no time to react.
But damn, it was really exhilarating!

The rest using my EX1 camera to camwhore while i was on the ride but guess what? They are not used to my camera. Everyone in the photo end up looking at the screen instead of the lens! Throughout the trip, i have to keep constantly remind them whenever i take group photos! LOLOLOL

PART 2

I CAN HAS A NEW WALLET!

Ok, this is just another short random update! Quite obvious what this post is about, but before i go on, let me show you how my current wallet looks like! (Ok, i know it's abit chui...)

I was using a LV wallet before this, and that day i was at the MAAD flea market at Red dot museum. It's not the usual flea market where people sell their clothes and junk, it's like a gathering for designers to sell their handmade stuff etc. I was looking around, quite amazed by some works.

I chanced upon this designer who doodled on plain paper wallet, so i thought why not support him by getting one of the wallet (It's only 8 bucks!) The next thing i did the next day was to pick up my market and continued the design - which is what you see in the above photo! Not bad right!

Anyway, it's not really a "paper" wallet. Yes, it's made of paper but a more durable type. Supposedly to be waterproof and tear proof but somehow i managed to prove both wrong. Mine is damn chui :|

Yesterday i was shopping around town and i saw this Agnès b card holder. Love at first sight ♥

As much as i want to get the wallet, i kept telling myself i don't need a new wallet (My LV is less than 3 months old!) and i'm spending way too much $$ for the month! I began spamming tweets:

Just a short update since i haven't been updating my blog proper (really busy nowadays at work)

Anyway, if you have been following me on twitter, you would know that tomorrow will be my private screening of the Cars 2 movie at Cineleisure! I have been giving out the tickets to my friends and twitter followers during the past few days!

(There isn't a giveaway on this blog due to the time constraint, Pai seh :|)

Happy to say that all 68 tickets have been given out. I'm glad 12 pairs of tickets that i've given on twitter are all swept within 15 mins! The movie is at 10am and honestly i don't expect anyone to wake up so early on a Saturday, travel all the way to town just to catch a movie! * 小 gan dong*

Hope everything will turn out well and everyone be happy tomorrow :D

I WILL BE GOING TO THE SHINEE CONCERT TOMORROW!!!

Can't believe i managed to last minute-ly get the tickets. Couldn't get the tickets when it was first on sale because i wasn't sure whether i can make it on that day but just 2 days before the actual concert, i managed to get it!!! Ok, tomorrow is gonna be a busy and tiring day. I should rest early.

BFFs weekend getaway to Batam: Day 2!

Here's Day 2 of the BFF weekend getaway to Batam! If you haven't read the first day post, you can read it HERE (clickable!) Woke up early the next day for hotel breakfast! I ♥ good hotel buffet breakfast! I think the best that i ever had was in Korea! I still remember waking up early MYSELF that time just to have the hotel buffet breakfast while Shawn and Beatrice was still sleeping! LOL

Omelette station! The chef will prepare a delicious omelette right infront of you, or if you don't like omelette, he can prepare a double yolk sunny side up! I took both :P

This is the first time i see a cereal dispensing machine. You have to put your bowl under and turn the knob to let the cereal fall. Come to think of it, how come it never crush the cornflakes ah?

Took the hotel cab back to Batam center! I rather pay more to take the hotel cab then take the normal lousy one. More comfortable! Oh ya, you see the photo above? Guess how many people are there on the bike? THE ANSWER IS 5. 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 baby. Oh my tian, so dangerous.

Batam shopping center is no better. Decided to finish up our rupiah by getting some souvenirs. Customized key chains at just 12000 rupiah each. Which i think is about... $1.70?

Nicely done. I didn't get any because i spent the remaining $$ on a watch, LOL

BFFs weekend getaway to Batam: Day 1!

It was the month of July and i was thinking what presents to get for both of my BFFs's birthday and since during one of our dinner we randomly mentioned about going Batam for a short getaway, i was thinking - Since i haven't been there before, why not treat them to a Batam getaway! It was super impromptu and we only had like less than 2 weeks to plan this trip. I had to get clearance to leave the country too (due to the nature of my job) But nevertheless, we managed to make it for the trip!

4 years of friendship and counting ♥

Decided to try a new style of editing my photos, which is change the background to B&W. Quite satisfied with the result but it takes up ALOT of time!!! Normally i take about 2 to 3 mins to edit a photo but now for this Batam travelogue, each photo takes around 7 mins!!! But still, i managed to finish edit close to 40 photos! Hope you will enjoy the photos! I guess i won't be doing it again! LOL

Penguin ferry service to Batam! Penguin reminds me of the the ferry i take to Tekong when i was recruit! The tickets cost around 50 bucks per person for a return trip, and there's specific timing!

Totally didn't expect such a crowd at the departure hall. Maybe because it's a weekend...

10am: Time to board the ferry! Have to wake up super early that day and travel to harbourfront!

We were the first few to board the ferry so we get to choose our seats! Free mineral water, LOL

Camwhore while waiting for the ferry to depart! The whole journey takes around 1 hour...

Upon reaching, we had seriously no idea where to go. According to our hotel website, they say that it's within walking distance but after asking around, it's like damn far away! No choice, had to cab.

Took a 20 mins cab to our hotel. Paid using Sing dollars. 10 bucks! Should have paid in Rupiah.

Ta-dah! Apparently this is one of the best hotel in Batam. Didn't expect this quality in the area. By the way, it was my BFFs that chose and booked the hotel, all i did was to pay for it. LOLOLOLOL

Quite a decent room with a queen size bed, couch, cable TV, fridge etc for $100+/day.

Best of all, THERE'S A BATH TUB!!! That's like one of my must-have in my hotel room!

There's even a jacuzzi and swimming pool at 6th level or something - which we didn't utilize it.

Our hotel location is damn good because right beside it is the Nagoya shopping mall!

Decided to have lunch at A&W! Still remember there used to be an outlet at Tampines Blk 201 :(

A&W famous mascot! I wonder why they close down in Singapore. Such a waste.

One word - Overpriced. One meal cost around 8 sing dollars and portion is pathetic. Not only that, we had to wait 15 mins for our food to arrive. The root beer seem diluted too. WHY LIKE THAT!

Before i go on, i would like to say something. BATAM IS DAMN BORING!!!! If given a choice, i think i would rather spend the $$ in our own country at Universal Studios. Then maybe book a local hotel at a boutique hotel, buy a cake and spend the night there. I think it would have been more meaningful.

Nevermind, i shall continue. After having A&W lunch, we shopped around Nagoya mall, feeling bored (there's nothing much in the mall, only alot of fake branded goods), we decided to go back to our hotel and think of what other things we can do. A local recommended us to go Kepri mall.

Once again, we took a cab to KEPRI MALL - which is supposedly better to shop at.

First thing when we enter the mall, instead of looking for place to shop, we...

looked for food instead. I wanted to eat this twister potato thing! Damn cheap, like $1.50?

They even give us an ice cream cone each! So $1.50 for an ice cream and a twister potato!

We were more interested in the twister potato though. I threw the cone away, opps.

We were walking walking then we saw 50% off and here's where we spent our next 45 mins. Rampaging through the piles of clothes to find something that we like. 50% = about $4 to $5 per tee only so can you imagine us flipping through all the clothes! I think i bought like 5 tees?

Always wanted to try this art machine in arcades but it cost around 6 bucks for one piece and guess how much it is to try it out in the arcade in Batam? ONLY $1.50! We took 3 times, 1 each (:

After some shopping, our last destination in Kepri mall was their super market! We just randomly throw snacks that we want to try into our trolley without even thinking and in the end...

our trolley was filled with all kinds of snacks! Amounting to about 50 sing dollars!!! O_O

We shopped till we forgot about our dinner. By the time we finish shopping at the super market, it was already late and we found this place called the BFC (like imitate KFC -.-) Apparently, BFC stands for Best Fried Chicken, so we da pao-ed a family feast and took a cab back to our hotel!

Well, that's the end of Day 1 in Batam. I think next time if i want to go Batam (for whatever reason) i should buy those deals from online and follow the tour. Maybe it will be more interesting. I might want to try their beach resort next time. Or maybe i should go Bintan instead...

Ramen, Dorayaki!

I was craving for Ramen the other day so the next thing i did was to find out where's the best Ramen in Singapore. I was specifically looking for - Teriyaki Chicken Ramen instead of the usual Cha siu ramen which is available everywhere. Reason being, i don't really like to eat pork. After searching online for quite awhile, looking at different places, i decided to go back to Men-Ichi Ramen at NEX.

I chose Men-ichi mainly because i remember #1: The Ramen being good. #2: There's FREE upsize to a larger portion for noodles. #3: The price is quite reasonable for a bowl of ramen. (Actually I was also secretly lazy to travel further because there's a direct bus from my house to NEX, LOL)

Men-ichi Japanese Ramen is located at NEX, Serangoon. #B1-79

Decided to order the Chawanmushi while waiting for my ramen to be cooked. It's either i'm too hungry that day or the chawanmushi is really heavenly! One of the best i've tried so far! ♥

Feeling very Adidas-ish that day with my black and gold Adidas jacket + watch! LOL

Here comes my ramen!!! Ok, this photo above do no justice because i asked for just the chicken and noodles -__- (The egg is additional charge) I requested not to have any veggie, beansprout and whatever. I ♥ RAMEN EGGS!!! It's like hard on the outside, and soft in the inside. Damn nice!

Total bill was $37.31. Less than 20 bucks per person, which is consider not bad already! :D

Went to walk around the Japanese street and saw this Dorayaki stall! Everyone was so interested at how it's made on the spot. (Did you know that Dorayaki is Doremon's favourite snack?) Anyway, we joined the queue and ordered a Cheese pancake, and a Chocolate pancake to try!

Every single Dorayaki is made on the spot so you can expect to wait at least 10 mins for it.

Got my Starbucks card! I think it's quite worth it. You pay 10 bucks (the amount will be topped up into your card), and you get a complimentary drink (ANY SIZE) after you register the card online! Your every 13th cup will be FREE and on your birthday month, you get a free slice of cake!

Why Starbucks no more Strawberries and Cream!!! I redeemed my drink that day and i wanted a medium size because i was quite sure i couldn't finish the large one, even though it was free. But the counter guy insisted "You sure? It's FREE" for like a few times. In the end i got the large one, took like less than 20 sips (1/4 of the drink) and threw the whole thing away. Like a Wasted.

When it comes to turning 21, everyone (or most people) will try to plan something special to celebrate that significant day. My good friend, Jiaqi planned a mickey mouse themed birthday party! I still remember few months back, we were discussing the little little details on how the party should be like (she almost wanted to give up planning and use the $$ to go overseas lor, LOL) NOOBBBB

Honestly, until today, i have no idea what's the meaning of "Meeska Mosska" LOLOLOOL

When Jiaqi mentioned that she wants a mickey mouse themed party, i didn't think she was that serious. At the most maybe ask us to dress up according to the theme, until i saw these...

Coke labels replaced with Mickey mouse labels!

DIY "g-masked" my Blackberry Bold 9780!

I always wanted to skin or so called "G-mask" my blackberry 9780 to protect it from scratches but always can't seem to find a suitable design for it. Buying one of those hard covers just makes the phone looks bulkier plus i always put my phone in the holster, so it kinds of defeats the purpose. So one day i randomly googled something like "Blackberry 9780 skin" and chanced upon istyles.com!

Ordered a simple houndstooth design and delivery took less than a week!

Step #1: Clean away the dust with the cleaning cloth provided.

Step #2: Peel the sticker off and stick it onto your phone accordingly.

Pasting the border of the screen. (Time to change my chui screen protector!)

TA-DAH! As simple as ABC! Front of my blackberry done.

Night at Timbre, Substation!

I remember few months ago, i tweeted and asked my twitter followers to introduce good places to chill at night, with good food, good environment (having a live band would be a bonus!) I remember getting quite a number of replies, and timbre was the most popular answer. I wanted to visit the place for the longest time but i have TOTALLY no idea how to get there. Ok, excuses. LOL

Always thought that there's only 1 timbre outlet in Singapore but there's 3! One at Substation, one at Old school and one at the Arts house. Finally visited the one at Substation, not very accessible!

Love the environment there! Reached there at about 7 plus (which is consider quite early) By the way, do you know that reservation for Timbre can only be made through their website? Not by phone call or email, and reservation must be made before 3pm. Live band only starts at around 10.30pm though. So you can imagine us nua-ing all the way from 7pm+ to 10pm+ just for the live band :(

Me and Jing Long deciding what pizza to have. They have the option of dividing one pizza into two at 20 bucks! We get to choose 2 flavours! We chose the the famous duck pizza and Hawaiian pizza (:

We ordered a Virgin Sakura ($12), Shirley temple ($10), Baileys Irish ($12) and Cinderella ($10)!

Everyone wants a piece of the thin crust pizza! The roasted duck pizza is really unique and it taste... Chinese with the sweet sauce! We wanted to order another pizza while waiting for the live band but was told we had to wait quite long for it! Wanted to try their buffalo chicken & sunny side up pizza!

During the live band segment, we get to dedicate song by sms-ing to a number that's flashed on their TV screen and the live band might just decide to play the song! I immediately sent the sms! :D

The drinks might be a little overpriced. The price of 2 drinks can get you a pizza, so do think about it. By the way, we ordered 2 rounds of drinks that day, 4 cups each (which makes up $90 of the total bill!) It would be wiser to order food with that amount of money instead. Timbre might just be my next favourite place to hang out at night. So who wants to go Timbre with me?

National Day Parade 2011 Preview!

Every year without fail, i will try to ballot for the NDP tickets, same for this year. But this year, thanks to Ying zi, i managed to get tickets for the NDP preview! (which is better than nothing, in fact i rather go for the preview than the actual thing on 9th Aug) Since she had 4 tickets, i get to ask my BFFs along too! First question that Yah see asked me, "Will have goodie bag anot???" LOL

Met up at Raffles City and bought Gong Cha! (Seriously it's over rated!)

Had a quick meal at Raffles City basement! Potato with Chicken and cheese! Quite nice!

How can a meal end without a dessert? Awfully chocolate ice cream! Super thickkkkk!

SEE SEE SEE! The whole sky is filled with confetti! I wonder who's gonna clean up after that.

Lunch, Swirl art & Once upon a milkshake!

Just a random blog post introducing 2 places i went recently! (No, i'm not paid to write this post -.-) So here we go! It was just a random Saturday so a few of us met at Bugis, couldn't decide wear to go for lunch to we went opposite to Liang Seah street to have our lunch at some chapalang store...

Here's my Fried chicken with egg rice! Just wanna show you how clear my camera is, MUAHAHA

When i saw the Liang Seah street road sign, the first question that came up to my mind was, "Haven't i read on some blogs or somewhere about a quite famous yogurt store which is also at Liang Seah street?" and i realised there's a Swirl Art outlet along the street. So we went to look for it (:

FINALLY FOUND IT! Ok lah, actually it's damn easy to find.

Inside is very buffet style. Everything is like DO-IT-YOURSELF so you swirl your own yogurt into the cup, choose your own toppings, bring your creation to the counter, weigh it and face the music. LOL There's a WHOLE LOT of toppings to choose from! Definitely spoilt for choice! I wanted EVERYTHING.

TA-DAH! Our creation! The one on the left is Ying zi's yogurt which cost like 8 or 9 bucks?! They go according to the grams and she took the ~~heavy~~ peaches and logan -.- Mine is the one on the bottom right with all the chapalang toppings. I think it cost around 6 bucks? Joyce's one is at the top. Also costing around 6 bucks if i'm not wrong... 3 cups for 21 bucks!!! No one to blame but ourselves!

Camwhore with my $6 yogurt! If only mine is 200 grams, then i would get it for FREE lor. That day got this promotion, if our yogurt weigh 100g, 200 or 300g (+/- 1gram), the yogurt would be FREE OF CHARGE. Mine weigh 204g. Wah laooo, maybe if i take one less marshmallow then 200g le! LOL

Smiling on the outside, pain on the instead. AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAAH Joking.

Few days before the day we met, i actually bought an online deal on Juztoday! Promotion at Once upon a milkshake! Only $4.35 for either 3 scoops of ice cream or 1 reg Milkshake! I bought 2 so i decided to bring the rest to try it out! Always wanted to try ewhen i go *Scape but expensive!

Ordered a Reg Chocolate Milkshake (Can't remember the name) and 3 scoops of ice cream!

The few of us first time trying out Once upon a milkshake drink and ice cream! NOT BAD LEH!

I like their milkshake! SUPER THICK. ~~Like confirm get sore throat that kind of thick lor!~~

Singapore Social Media Day! #sgsmd

Remember i blogged about the Social Media Day 2011 not long ago? Well, here's a recap of what happened that day! By the way, are you guys excited to see my creative sandwich!!! MUAHAHA

One of the aims that day was to raise funds for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund!

Donating any amount that day to the SPMF entitles you to write on the "wall", enter the lucky draw to win a 3D2N trip to Hong kong, and a game card to win yourself a goodie bag (:

Went up to level 5 to complete my game card to get a goodie bag! Basically there were 4 stations and i had to play games that involves Social media. Like shortening one whole paragraph to under 140 letters, Take a photo and upload to Facebook etc. Easy peasy for a social media person like me!

Had a little interview session to introduce ourselves and our blog. I'm the only guy! *Blush*

Everyone getting ready to grab one of the four aluminum foil wrapped plates! It contains all our ingredients! My partner for the day is April from araphoenix.com! Nice to meet you that day!

Opening the foil to reveal our ingredients! I was seriously praying for tomato/ chili sauce!!!

In the end i really heng heng kena packets of Chili sauce + Veggie, Sausages and Luncheon Meat!

We were given 5 mins to discuss on what to design for our sandwich so i immediately took out my phone, google the image of the _____ and told April what i intend to do! Then we split the task into different parts, it feels like the ultimate plan! Soon, the 5 mins was up and we had 10 mins to design!

I immediately grabbed the scissors and start cutting the bread. I find it so much easier to use compared to the knife lor. Random fact about me: I don't eat bread with the "skin". Since young, i always cut it away with a knife. Until i grew up and realised it's easier and faster to use a scissor!

Staying 100% focused on designing the sandwich. Can you spot the image from my phone?

Now you know why i desperately need the tomato/ chili sauce? ~~Actually i secretly have chili sauce in my pocket, JUST IN CASE suay suay don't have ma.~~ Then it will spoil my plan! Phew.

Parkway parade used to be one of my favourite place in Singapore (in fact it still is!) I remember when i was a kid, there used to be this HUGE amusement center on the 4th floor. It's like a arcade plus a mini theme park with rides. Like a fun fair! Me and my cousins will go there like twice a month, good memories... Even though Parkway changed a lot, it's still one of my favourite shopping center ♥

The place is abit inaccessible so i'll always wait for my dad to bring the family there on Sundays! Opposite the shopping center is my one of my favourite dim sum! Yes, in a hawker center! Well... If you know me well enough, you will know that i seldom eat in hawker centers :| But this is different!

The dim sum store is called "Neptune" Cheap and nice ♥

Not forgetting Char siew chee cheong fun! ♥♥♥ Everything less than 20 bucks?

One of my favourite ice cream! Scoopz at Parkway parade basement!

It's only $2.90 per scoop! (Super cheap compared to expensive brands like Haagen daz or Ben & Jerry's) and they make the ice cream infront of you. Apparently they ice cream are hand made or something, then they will keep "stirring" the ice cream to get rid of the air inside so that the ice cream will be smoother. Something like that, LOL! Go try it if you're going Parkway, it's different :D

Randomly thought of the "old school" cheese cubes that i always loved as a kid! I remember bugging my mum whether i can have one or two cubes from the whole tray as a snack! It used to be my favourite snack. I always wondered if it's still available so the next thing i did was to drop by NTUC!

It's still available! But in a smaller packaging! I remember the package being longer!

3 different flavoured cheese! There's the Smoked cheese, Natural and Cheddar! ♥

RSAF Open house!

Super overdue post! But since i already edited the photos long long ago, i shall do a quick post! Over the weekends was the RSAF open house so i thought it would be a good chance to bring my friends there to let know more about about the air force and mainly because i want to see the air show again! The only time we get to see such air show is during national day leh! LOLOLOLOLOL

Traumatized by the long queue at the interchange for the shuttle bus. Decided to cab in instead.

Until today, everyone is still not used to my EX1 camera! Look at the lens, not the flip screen!!!

An cool looking F15 aircraft greeted us when we enter the open house! Super nice!

Went straight to the seating gallery to wait for the airshow to start! Can you spot Jiaqi and Ying zi?

The air show started with parachuting from a C130 plane, followed by fighter air crafts taking off RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES! You don't even get to see it during NDP lor! This air show really shows how ready the air force when in emergency. I bet everyone was impressed by it! *beams*

It feels like the National parade! Except that me and jing long are sitting on the ground. No seats -.-

Singapore Social Media Day (SGSMD) 2011 is a bloggers-initiated charity carnival fully supported by OMY.SG to celebrate World Social Media Day (30th June). SGSMD and it will be held on this Saturday 25th June 2011, from 2pm-9pm at *SCAPE Atrium & Gallery.

The event mainly makes up of a couple of charity booths, shopping, performing arts, meaningful station games and an exciting sandwich-making contest, amongst other activities. Sounds fun?

Denim jacket for only $4.90?

The current trend with me and my course mates now is online shopping! After introducing them to Gmarket, everyone started coming to my room every now and then with their laptop and Visa/ Mastercard and start to search for the latest bargain and we all buy together! I think up to date, we bought instax albums, instax films, lots of tees, wallets, watches and many more, damn kua zhang!

Anyway, i was surfing for Men's apparels and i came across this denim jacket at only $4.90:

I was like, "Har?! This denim jacket only cost $4.90, and after shipping it's only $6.40?!" I showed it to my friends and they were like, "Confirm scam de lah, how can so cheap..." Anyhow-ly i decided to take the risk and prove to everyone it's gonna be real so the next thing i did was...

Paid $6.40 and pray.

By the way, the size and colour of the jacket is not even what i want, LOLOLOLOL

The only size available was M onwards and the colour available was Dark blue. I wanted S size and Dark grey. Ying zi's 18th Birthday at MBS!

Slightly overdue post! Was invited by Yingzi to her 18th Birthday celebration at Marina Bay Sands! Was quite a rush that day cos i had to rush to somewhere to get her present (which you all will know at the later part of this post!) Carried it all the way to Cityhall from Pasir Ris, met Jiaqi, Jinglong and Kaizhi, bought Helium balloons at Raffles city and walked all the way to MBS. Phew

Wanted to buy a card for her but decided to write our wishes on the helium balloons instead.

Ying zi's room is at MBS tower 3, which the first out of the three building that you see in the above photo. So we have to walk all the way to the end of our side, cross the traffic light, and walk back to the first building. After walking for like 20 mins, we finally reached. Understand? No? Nevermind.

The size of the toilet, is the size of my room (i think. Or just abit smaller) -__-

The Magnificent Bedroom. I like to play with the curtains cos it's button activated. Just keep pressing then it will open close open close, LOLOLOLOL Ehh, by the way, this is not the standard room. It's the MBS suite which cost $1.2k PER NIGHT wtf. The room alone already cost so much!

The well-known fridge in MBS! Once you take any drink out from the fridge, it will automatically be charged to your bill within 15 seconds. I thought i very clever and suggested using a straw (?!) to drink straight of the can without taking it out from the fridge, leaving the can intact. Apparently someone said that the sensor will take note the weight of the can too. Oh wells, they more smart.

Sushi and Play Nation!

Ever since i passed by the newly opened PlayNation at Scape, i told myself i will find time one day to drop by, relax and have fun for a few hours! So last weekend, i managed to gather Jiaqi, Jing long, Kaixin, Yingzi and Joyce to go for PlayNation's weekend Happy hour from 2pm to 6pm! YAYYYYY

But before meeting the rest at Scape, Jiaqi, Kaixin and me decided to have Jap for lunch, so we met up at Nihon Mura at The Cathay! The girls really ordered ALOT of food! Like very long never eat, LOL

We then headed to PlayNation at *Scape, 2 Orchard Link, #03-01 (:

Weekend rates for Happy hour is $12.50/ person from 2pm to 6pm with FREE flow of drinks!

The main game that we wanted to play was Band Hero! There will be 2 guitarist, 1 drummer and 1 singer for each song so we get to rotate the different instruments. I like to play the guitar the most! Hate singing because i don't know most of the songs, except for Taylor swift and some other, LOL

I think the drum quite difficult to play, must hit until very hard -__-

The next game we played was Rayman Raving Rabbids! Super silly game, LOLOLOLOL

The game consist of alot of mini games and we have to hold the Wii controller and do all sorts of things, damn funny! Like for the photo above, everyone have to hold the controller and do the "running" action to escape being crush by the giant rolling stone! Very fun but tiring at the same time!

I wanted to redeem a free topping, but even before i tell the frolick girl what topping i want, she started dumping chunks of kit kat into my cup! I totally stunned and told her i didn't say i want Kit kat. So she decided to give me another topping, now my yogurt look so colourful! YAYYYYY :D

I always bring my camera out where ever i go but it's either #1: I did not charge the batteries -__- or #2: I'm too lazy to take it out to take photos. But last weekend i decided to be more hardworking *flicks hair* and hook on the camera strap and took random photos to blog this post! MUAHAHA

Photo #1: Lemon Juice with white pearl and Ai yu jelly from Gong Cha!

First time trying! Normally i don't drink Gong cha or Koi. My friends keep telling me how nice this is and how i would get addicted to it after trying it for the first time. But don't have ley -__- I find it quite normal, and not sweet enough. Normally how many % you guys go for ah? I tried 50%.

Booked tickets online the night before! Only $8.50/ tickets thanks to my Safra card! I find the movie quite nice. (Btw, i'm a HUGE fan of X-Men!!!) Perhaps a bit more climax would be better. Don't really have scenes where it makes you "sit up and hold your breath", understand what i'm trying to say?

Was craving for Astons so we headed over to The Cathay for dinner. Waited for at least 40 mins before we could get a seat! There isn't a time when i passed by this outlet and i see no queue!

I ♥ Astons because it's nice and affordable! It's only like 10+ bucks per person!

Always wanted to get a new water bottle and the Starbucks tumbler caught my attention! The tumbler cost $15.90 but guess what? It comes with a FREE tall beverage! So after minus-ing the Strawberries and Cream (everyone should try it, i swear it's super heavenly!) which cost $6.40, the tumbler cost me less than 10 bucks! I CAN HAS A NEW WATER BOTTLE/ TUMBLER! :D

Impromptu decision to catch a midnight movie! So i used my iPad to search for available tickets. Cineleisure - FULL. The Cathay - FULL. GV Plaza Sing - FULL. Shaw Lido - FULL. Basically all the cinemas in town were full, BUT we managed to get tickets for Hangover 2 at Eng wah, Suntec at 11.50pm! Super funny movie!!! Cabbed home after the movie, and reached home at 2am. Slept at 4!
